Semo game 1

I wasn't implying SEMO is a slouch by any means...I've said it a few times, if we overlooked them, they would beat us again. Errors and unearned runs are unacceptable. Something needs to be done about that. RTR

Tider in Illinois,
Great job !
I was unable to attend tonight's game because of business. Wished I was there. As Play Ball has said, we are going to have to be patient with this team. Remember that SEMO is a very good team. They beat us in the Regional last year. And I for one am glad that Coach Wells has scheduled, a tough non-conference slate. This team will improve. Tomorrow is a new day.

You're right DT, we are going to have to be patient at times. I have a bad temper, so it is harder for me, but I love all the guys out there. It hurt a little more as I was always coached 'defense first.' We can still take this series. I feel bad for Tank...RTR

Bo, I feel for Tank also. However, what I saw tonight was a frustrated pitcher who couldn't hide his emotions. He yelled at the umpire and his teamates, and nearly lost his cool several times. This team needs their pitcher to be a leader. Perhaps that is alot to ask of a sophomore, but I don't think so. Yes, the umpires were bad, yes, there were errors, and yes, there was reason to be frustrated. But a pitcher must pitch and let the coaches coach.
Tankersley can be a great pitcher. He just has to compose himself a little more on the mound. He's a great kid and a competitor, but he must dial it back a little.

Bo,
First of all, the pop-up got up into the 25 mph wind. Secondly, a pitcher should NEVER have priority of a fly ball on the infield. It was clearly Bush's ball.
The inside the parker was a tough catch about a foot below the top of the wall. It's a catch that we have seen McClanahan and Keller make 100 times, but it was tough none the less.
