Seriously, Not Trying To Kiss You Know What, But for the First Time I have spent some significant time listening to Saban and I like him.

In the spirit of good competition and respect for competition, I thought I would say what is stated in the thread title.

There is a very small connection between my family and Saban. A long time ago, my father got a football scholarship to Kent State but only lasted one year. (He told me he flunked math, but he told my brother that he had to go home to help his [Italian immigrant] family with money)

Hoping for a good game, but I know for a different outcome from those posting here.

"What's not to like. He cares about his players and tries to help them be successful in all aspects of life. For some he is the Father they never had. The Saban he let's the world see is a completely different Saban that the team gets to see."

This is why I like the "behind the scenes" videos of Coach Saban at practice. We get to see how he really interacts with the young men at our program.

if you can find his book for cheap, buy it and read it. You will totally understand everything he does. His book is literally a change your mentality kind of read. It was written after his success at LSU, so if he’s made any significant strides in his philosophy since then they won’t be in there.

He’s a whole lot more than a coach who blows up on the sidelines.

Ray Stevens used to make songs with very long titles. Sorry for any confusion.
Thanks. I had never heard of that song. It was hilarious. Long title partly due to this site's strict prohibition against profanity. Would have preferred to use a 3 letter word ending in "ss.", but was afraid to do so.

Hey man....I get uptight in close games. I hope for a good game too. And if we cant win that thing....then I will man up and whine like any good fan that just witnessed another trophy headed out the door. Seriously...whoever wins will be deserving.

Thanks for such a classy post. You probably do know how much better you guys are than Clemson fans.

The year after we lost on the last play to Clemson and DeShaun Watson I happened to be in New Orleans due to the death of my Uncle. There were a ton of Clemson folks staying there for what I don’t know. Anyway I tried talking with them and congratulated them on their season and championship. They proceeded to say rather profane words with Bama being the second word (which I heard periodically throughout my stay because I always had my Bama hat on). To a man they either Stated how they were robbed of the first title too, or they ran out of time and both sentiments said Clemson would be owning Bama for the rest of eternity. Never once did they act with class. And this was like 30 folks that ran the gamut in age. Perhaps I just interacted with the 30 worst Clemson fans but I’ve seen that general attitude since then and it is general the viewpoint I hear from other schools fans that have interacted with them. Maybe it’s an Orange thing. maybe it’s a Tiger thing. Perhaps it’s a Dabo thing. Just count me in the category of “Not a fan of the whole Clemson fambly.”

Last year the most common post on the Clemson board was whether they would beat OSU by 30 or 40 points. Amazing arrogance. This year a lot of them are still defending Skalski.

Hey ..ALL fanbases have their embarrassing twirps. I have been on some other Boards where one could almost decipher ages just by the pompoused comments. We are ALL Americans, and to me..that means I owe respect to whomever whether Speaking to others in person or on a Board. But I am old fashioned...so there is that😃 I think most..if not all here enjoy the banter from other fan bases. I do admit to taking shots at Coach Fulmer because he has never gone to bat for his actions.
