the p95 is so much easier to shoot then the cz. i really like it. i am looking to get a .22 plinking rifle. i think that will be it unless i get a wild hankering for a shotgun but i truly doubt i will.

For accuracy, you can't beat a Marlin. I have a Model 60 .22 that is fantastic for small game, etc.
I don't do "sport shooting", but I keep in practice with a S&W .38 Special and a Makarov 9mm semi-auto. These are strictly for self-defense though.

If you can find one of these Browning .22 semi auto they are super fine. It will be one of the most expensive but will appreciate in value.

I also highly recommend the Ruger 10/22. It is well built and they offer so many accessories to customize the gun.

And you can get the Ruger in stainless steel.

it appears you can kill as many as you like and be back on the street within a month. that might be changing though.


i like the semi-auto 22's but i kind of have a weird yearning to get a lever action. they seem fun.

They might be "fun", but you wouldn't want to hunt with one. The sound made by cocking a lever action will spook every animal within half a mile.

i only hunt in the aisles of my local grocery store.
way back in the day, a friend bought a new shotgun and decided to go spotlighting. i didnt know this was illegal at the time. so im standing there with the spotlight, we hear a noise off to the side in the dark. he levels the gun and shoots before i even pointed he light in the direction. it was at that point i realized if there was one moron in the woods with gun, there must be many more. that was the last day i ever went out hunting.

Yeah but ain't it cool. I bought a mini 14 years ago I planned to customize and never got around to it. I think my son has it hidden somewhere in his stash. They are completely legal, could you imagine the look on a burglar's face if you threw down on him with one of those?

it would be very cool, but something tells me id have to clean up a puddle of urine once the cops took him away.

i still have the original stock on my mosin. im thinking about slapping a fiberglass stock on it and maybe modding it a little. still not sure if it worth the effort.

My thoughts would be to keep it as is for value's sake. Some remodeling or improvements can knock the value down a bit on certain firearms.

a mosin nagant is about as valuable as a piece of dirt. normally i would agree with you on historic firearms but nagants retail for $90 and there are literally millions of them around. i already drilled a couple holes in it and sawed off the bolt so i could put a scope on it. the problem is it isnt very accurate so im not sure if the barrel is crap or if i never got all the cosmoline out of it.
