Agree with those who say Cooper gets away with more than any WR you have ever seen in college. St. Timmy beat us last year standing in the pocket and making pin point throws on third downs in the 4th quarter. I don't think he can/will do that two years in a row. I know I'd sure rather force him to do that than let him scramble out of the pocket.

Riley Shipley is Timmy McCoy's roommate?!? You think someone would have mentioned that on tv at some point this year.

Practically everyone in the world knows that:

1. Riley Cooper is Tebow's roomie, and
2. Riley Cooper is Tebow's favorite receiver.

And we Bama fans know Cooper played a big part in our defeat last year. Granted I haven't watched much UF football this year, but I don't understand why this guy can't be shut down. Do we have the talent in the secondary to take him out of the game? And if we do, does UF have anyone that might step up other than Hernandez at TE and cause problems for Bama?

(Does anyone know if Cooper was the leading receiver in last year's SEC championship game?)
FYI, in last year's game:
Murphy 4 for 86 yds.
Hernandez 3 for 43
Nelson 3 for 27 and 1 TD
Cooper 2 for 56 and 1 TD
Moore 1 for 3 and 1 TD

I, too, can't understand why Cooper hasn't been shut down unless the focus has been on stopping Florida's running game and daring Tebow-Cooper to beat you. For 12 weeks, I've been hoping Tebow will mature as a passing QB, survey the field, make the reads, and throw to the best option EVEN if it's not Cooper or Hernandez. I appreciate him and wouldn't trade him, but IMO, he has regressed as a proficient passing QB. Many plays look as if he has made up his mind on the target before the snap, throws only if receiver is WIDE open, or throws late. Many say Florida has no receivers. I would argue the Gators have plenty but Urban/Addazio/Tim refuse to give them the opportunities that they seem to deserve so noone knows what they can do I'm probably being overly critical but, his reluctance or lack of confidence to utilize ALL receivers continues to give me cause for serious concern. I'm not at practice or in the film room but I thought getting QB Coach Loeffler from Michigan would really help Tim and I don't see it. Consistent pressure on Tebow could lead to MAJOR issues for the Gators.

I've only watched a few gator games, and have heard 2 million times who Cooper rooms with. I have watched every second of every Bama game - and i can't think if i know or not who McElroy rooms with....

Thanks for the stats from last year's game. They are surprising.

I can appreciate your frustration with Tebow not giving other WRs a chance. Bama once had a QB who locked on to his primary receiver only. And if that WR wasn't open, the ball was going to be thrown 20 rows up in the stands, even if it meant doing so on 3 consecutive downs!

Riley Cooper is Tebow's Room mate? Huh, you'd have thought somebody would have mentioned that in a telecast of a game this year. :biggrin2:
I don't blame Tim for his choice of roomates. Riley has all of that Texas Rangers' draft money to spend on all of the nice furnishings, electronics and food that most college kids, make that all of us, crave. I'm guessing that they had frequent large visitors.

William Vlahos (sp) is Greg's roommate. He has mentioned it in an interview.

And no, CBS has never mentioned it, I am surprised that Gary and Vern can pronounce his name properly.

I don't know if we'll be able to jam Cooper at the LOS, but I can tell you that it will be the plan. We've done it all year against physical receivers. There will also be hand fighting all the way down the route. Gonna be interesting...
