Video: Simpson was Lucky to walk out of Iron Bowl

I'm on board with being optimistic about our QB room, especially Russell AND hoping they get more PT!

But here's the dilemma: For every series you give Mack or Russell... let's say in theory we give Mack two series and Russell one...that's 3 series Ty doesn't get.

This leaves me feeling a little uneasy, considering the stakes riding on this game, especially if the score is close, as I expect it to be.

The one time I'd fully agree is that if we are struggling with Ty in the sense we are having a bunch of 3 and outs. We are going to get beat anyway, so why not give the youngsters a try?
If they tangibly know Ty CAN'T push the ball down the field, I'd love to see it. Would depend on how much they trust the young guy to set protections and make changes. But pulling out the "backup QB" voodoo doll against Kirby would make it even more hilarious if it worked

Can't link it directly.....has a few words.....this is the channel:

- RB's hurt in pass pro

- Grubb didn't help Ty out

- Lots of pass pro busts (obviously)

- Numerous times we've got the numbers on OL blocks and one guy just isn't blocking anybody.

- A few times where Ty was lucky not to have his knee blown out.

- Bunch formations we aren't getting the ball out fast enough

- Ty holding onto the ball just a bit too long

- Says stop using the TE to chip and release....just keep him in to block.

- This guy thinks Auburn was shocked Bama went for it on 4th and 2 and didn't have a good call in...lots of defensive confusion.

- Thinks Horton was the 4th WR on the 4th and 2 play, but Auburn was so confused they were rushing 3 and never got pressure.

- Sloppy game overall....lack of basic fundamentals

- Coleman's fumble....he never tucked the ball tight.

- Brooks, on the muffed punt....had 2 chances to fall on the ball, but he tried to scoop it and the ball went out of bounds.

- Fundamentals disappearing in this era of football

- Bama's snap count....the OG tapping the C....makes it too easy for the defense to time up the snap. Stopped doing that in the 2nd half and went to Ty clapping.

- Why didn't Grubb have Ty just don't the claps for the snap to begin with.
One thing I disagree with and it was proven on the field that day. Remember the axiom: "You can't cheat an honest man". Well, Auburn wasn't honest. They DID start to time their blitzes with the gaurd/center-tap. When we were ready and needed a quick five yards for free, we called for delay snap after tap. It worked; we caught them offsides for an easy free five.

We're not THAT stupid.

I think it’s SEC vs PAC10
So do I. Look, we all know that, top to bottom, those two conferences prior to realignment were not comparable. Even their conference champions would have typically been no better than 3 or 4 in the SEC.

What worked there will not be sustainable with the athleticism and absolute arms race for coaches in the SEC. It's two different levels of football. That said, there was improvement in physicality from Alabama this year. That will have to continue. One might have thought that DeBoer would have been "plug and play" into what Saban already had built, but let's not forget that Saban's last 2-3 teams also had a marked drop off in discipline and effective play. We weren't operating at our highest level when Saban left, despite even making the CFP and losing in a close, sloppy affair to the eventual national champ.

Michigan beat us on 1/1/24 and 12/31/24, something I won't forget. But those were not the best Alabama teams of the 2020's, and not comparable to those 2010's Bama teams.

Agree. This isn't the time to get guys in just to give them playing time, but I wonder if Mack or Russell don't give us a better chance at winning tomorrow due to Ty's health.

Don't think it is a good idea to go from our experienced leader and captain to young, inexperienced QB's in the SEC championship game. Both are talented but you don't turn over the keys at this point in the season. You dance with the one you brought and I am confident Ty will be just fine.
