Just putting this up here. We are hard on our team, but the metrics show they are actually pretty good.

No matter how you slice it, if they win out, Bama is one of the 4 best teams in CFB, and will only get better with a lay-off and healing.

We just need to beat Auburn, for a lot of reasons, including it is fun to beat them down. If we do, we just might get in. I would say very likely if the committee is truly objective. They've had some head-scratching rankings this year where they are not consistent on where they put teams.

We need LSU and the tOSU to hold serve. That takes out UGA and Minn. if either of those win their CG they will be four. If they both win UGA will get the nod due to their wins though Minn. would have nice top 10 wins too.

If OU and Utah win and go to 12-1 I’d say they jump Bama this time due to these sorry donkey SEC teams sucking so bad thanks Miss. St., OM, Arky, and Tenn and USCe oh and Duke.

Utah has a yucky loss to USC so I like our chances best against them in the 11-1 to 12-1 comparison.

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see but we have ENOUGH to worry about and overcome Saturday!

LSU, OSU and Oregon. Those three win and it will be really hard to keep us out. Obviously, anything can happen with the committee - and I do believe there's some serious Bama fatigue going on - so we'll have to hold our breath and cross our fingers.

At the end of the day, though, if we are able to go 11-1 with all of the season-ending injuries we've incurred and still say we beat Auburn, it's not so bad of a year. Playoff or not. Especially understanding that we were 1-2 unforced errors away from being undefeated and having played a TON of underclassmen.

I keep seeing people (on Facebook not on here) wanting Ohio St, Clemson or LSU to lose so it will help Alabama’s playoff chances. That is the last thing Alabama needs is another one loss team. They need those three teams to win out, Oklahoma St to win next week and Oklahoma to win the Big 12 championship against Baylor and Oregon to win the PAC 12 championship against Utah. Then Alabama will be the only one loss team left (assuming they beat Auburn). If this happens it doesn’t matter if the Iron Bowl is a blowout.

I agree...it's better to just keep it simple. Those three are in if they win out and it eliminates many other 1 loss teams. The less 1 loss teams the better for us, IMO.

Concerning a Clemson loss, I know their week schedule should be a big issue, but I'd rather us not be compared to them, especially with the loss of Tua, as a 1 loss team.

We take care of business this weekend and the CFPC will agree we are the best one loss team.

I'd say I've never liked Heather Denich, but I imagine some would call that sexist, but....I've never like Heather Denich. If Bama makes the playoff....I hope they put what she said out there for all to hear again.....she said before the LSU game was over that "Bama is done." Talking about their playoff hopes.

Just beat Auburn and lets see what happens.

See, I'd feel much better about Championship weekend if LSU and tOSU lose this weekend. That means all participants have one loss.....that means 2 of the 4 have 2 losses when it's over.

Thin out the herd..... if UGA beats LSU or insanity kicks in and Minnesota upsets tOSU during Championship week, we have no chance.... but if they all have one loss - that opens up the door for us big time.....

So, I'm pulling for Meeshigan and A&M this weekend.... probably won't happen, but I'll be rooting hard for both of the dogs in those games.

IDK, I still think an undefeated LSU beating down UGA is our best argument. We don't have any big, quality wins, but that 1 loss is the best in the country if they stay perfect.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see em all lose (especially LSU) but I just think the 3 no loss teams is our best path in as the best 1 loss team. But hey, if it happens another way and we get in it really doesn't matter.

I do not understand how Heather Dinich has attained the platform she has, unless ESPN wants someone to tick off college football fans with really bad takes. In that case, it makes sense.

We just need to beat Auburn. I'd love a 28 point win, but at the end of the day, I'll take a 1 point win and be happy (though not while such a game is going on).

After it's all said and done, this team finishing 11-1 with absolute justice in saying they should have been 12-0 if not for a ton of self-inflicted wounds in that LSU first half (and a little assist to the Tigers from the Zebras), is something to be quite proud of. And a playoff berth, which would have been earned at that point, would be a really nice icing on the cake.

Heather Dinich is a click-baiting, water-carrying, sycophant for any team or conference she thinks has the remotest chance of limiting or eliminating the SEC. Double that if the team in question is Alabama, and/or the other conference is the ACC.

I pay as much attention to her as I do to Goodman in the Birmingham News, or to anything from Tim Brando -- none.

Did I say that I have no respect for her opinions?

IF we win, total chaos doesn't hurt us at all....

In fact we could find our way up to 2nd or 3rd.....

I don't see the Sooners getting in. Most around here are resigned to not making it.
You've had a good year but scraped by too many mediocre teams but if Alabama and UGA lose you have as good a shot as anyone - IMO, assuming you win out, you would deserve to be the 4th team.

The best 4th spot contenders:
UGA - if they win out they are in and deserve it. Even with the awful loss to SC at home, the would have wins over ND, UF, Auburn, A&M and LSU. Can't keep them out.
Bama - if they win out they would only have wins over A&M and Auburn but their loss would be to #1 LSU by 5 and they have dominated all other games with the closest being 3 TDs. They are way ahead, even of UGA, in most credible "analytic" rankings like SP+, FPI.
OU - if they win out they would have beaten several good, except for Baylor, not very good or great, teams but a loss to a 5 loss team and most of the late wins have been squeakers vs ordinary to decent teams.
Utah - loss to a decent/good USC and no decent wins but 3 loss Oregon. They play in PAC12. They have almost nothing to offer.

If y’all win out I see y’all jumping us even if we beat AU. They say they value conference championships and this would be a perfect chance to use that. I would not be surprised or even upset. While I’d love being in the CFP I’d be very proud of this team for finishing and not quitting because of everything obstacle they’ve had to battle. At least it makes all these games reasons to watch more football!!![emoji1303]

That just seems unreasonable to me, no matter how happy it would make me. The one-loss Tide currently sits at No. 5, and if one-loss Georgia loses, it's an almost sure thing Bama will move up to four. One-loss Oklahoma is at No. 7 behind both Bama and Utah.

Oklahoma has a decent shot at winning out. The Sooners own Oklahoma State and will almost certainly beat the Cowboys, but it will be much, much harder to beat Baylor a second time. Bama only has to beat Auburn to preserve its one-loss regular season. This is only my opinion, of course, but I just don't see my Sooners overtaking your Tide if you beat Auburn – by one or 31.
