I think the announcers are about to cry.

No doubt. I can't figure out exactly why it appears none of the announcers at the WCWS seem to like our girls. They never give them any credit and always pick them to lose. Even back in the super regional we were beating Michigan something like 3-0 and they could only talk about how well Michigan was playing??? I realize they are PAC-12 worshippers, maybe they don't like Coach Murphy, or men coaching women, or men in a woman's game. I know they take away from my enjoyment of the game. End of rant.

Congrats to our girls and coaches, may as well win the thing now.

The catcher's pick-off of the Cal runner at first base in the top of the 6th was key! Nipped their rally in the bud. A special, special play.

If there's any way for coaches to nix a plate umpire for the championship series, we have a candidate. That ump was inconsistant and that's inexcusable. Strikes and balls were all over the map.

Totally agree. I've never seen an umpire call the same pitch as a ball or strike, depending on her mood. Crazy!

She was really bad; and I think it got to the point where our coaches' complaining was beginning to affect her decision-making even more (to our disadvantage).

It was badly inconsistent both ways; but seem to tilt in Cal's favor toward the back half of the game.

Fortunately, it didn't take away from a fantastic game by our girls. They've played a fantastic WCWS to date. Roll Tide!!

Someone needs to look at the game tape, and find a different job for her. No idea what her problem is/was, but you can't have someone like that calling the finals. Especially since the host team is playing.

I agree about the ump. She must have been PMS'ing, or something. She couldn't seem to settle in on where her 'preferred' strike zone was. I guess it all depended on who was up to bat, what was the score at the time, what kind of mood she was in, or something.
One thing is for sure, and that is that you can't have a home plate ump who is so inconsistent on so many calls.
