Has anyone ever been to SC to tailgate? If so, where did you set up?

We are going there Oct 9th and planned on setting up if we can. The only area I could find was the fairgrounds, but you need a season parking pass to use it. I love the Bama Quad, but I don't think they have anything like that there.

The fairgrounds is it. We parked in the fairgrounds somewhere last time we played them. The neighborhood around the stadium reminds me of legion field. So you definitely want to stay around the fairgrounds ;)

Went to the SC-Florida game last fall at Williams Brice...you won't have any problems with parking. There are plenty of areas that are not reserved all around the stadium...its somewhat of a commercial / light industrial area around the stadium and you can get 1/4 to 1/2 mile of the stadium, pay $20 or so, and you'll be in a parking lot of a business. Definitely not like BDS, but you'll find parking OK

Been there once and don't plan on going again. There is very little space for opposing team fans to tailgate or just hang out. If not for friends inviting us to there spot we would have been sitting on the asphalt waiting for the gates to open. If I ever go back, I'll find a fan friendly rest/bar to count down to kick off.

Sounds good, but isn't a parking pass needed? From what I have found, it is a season pass, and can't be bought per game.

Plenty of places to park and tailgate. Like others have said, lots of business lots to park and they don't discriminate as long as u have $$$. U can also find out where the Columbia and Charleston chapters r tailgating and find a good time.

The SC State Fair will be in Columbia on 10/9, in addition to the GameDay crew, so there is a high probability of parking problems. Below is per the university as of yesterday:

All parking will be extremely limited. Approximately 300 game day parking spaces will be available for $30 per space at Gate 6 of the Fairgrounds beginning five (5) hours before kickoff. Another 500 spaces will be available for game day parking for $30 each in the Farmers Market at the entrance off of National Guard Road. The Farmers Market lot opens six (6) hours before kickoff. Limited RV parking will be available on Friday, October 8th at Capital City Stadium for $30 per day and in the Farmers Market for $60 per day. Both lots open at 2:00 p.m. on Friday and neither has hookups.

Please visit the Fan Zone at GamecocksOnline.com for more game day information.
