It was when Tiger won his first masters. Each year, the past year's champion picks the menu for the "champions dinner." I think Fuzzy said something about fried chicken and greens (or something like that). FWIW, Fuzzy isn't racist, but it was just a bad stab at humor that got blown out of proportion.

If you understand what Cosell really meant, it wasn't a racial slur. Cosell grew up in Jewish culture. The term "monkey" is an endearing comment. For instance, an adult watching children play might say something like "look at the little monkies climb." Of course knee jerk reactionists aren't going to take it in context when there is a chance to play "victim."
