Stadium Food Prices/ Five Guys, Dreamland in Stadium (Merged)

Votes are in

I got a 20 oz coke in the stands for 2.00, which I thought was pretty cheap, the guy sitting next to me paid 3.00 for a bottle of water, I thought that was something.

I don't know what as fans we can do other than what a lot on here have said, quit buying it and they will have to lower the prices, maybe we should flood the president with emails about the gouging and let him know that we are their customers, if they keep gouging we will not be able to afford to come, I am talking from ticket prices to the shakers, enough is enough, it is really getting ridiculous.

Just my .02 worth, thanks for letting me vent

If you're getting 8 oz of ice, someone isn't doing the job they're supposed to do. Ice is the most expensive part of the drink (and the most difficult to replenish if it runs out). At around $.12 per drink for the paper cups, the drinks are almost pure profit, so it doesn't matter if you get ice or no ice. Many people order the drinks with no ice and all workers are supposed to oblige.
That was hyperbole on my part, obviously. Even with no ice, $4 is insane. I worked at a restaurant years ago and remember that the fountain drinks cost next to nothing. Otherwise, they wouldn't have let us have all we want for free...

Bama-Nation Folks:

Look at the very-high-prices as a "contribution" to THE University of Alabama!

Most of the monies collected here does go into the general fund of the U of A, I do believe........

This way, we provide two things: pretty good game-day food and an easy donation to BAMA!

Vegas, can we get some Tide Totals for these donations? J/K. I think the prices are spot on for what we have in the venue we have it in. Go to a Titans game and see how much concessions are. While we aren't quite at the pro level with our concessions, we're close. For those that don't want to pay the price, don't. That's all I can tell you. But this ole' boy has two youngun's that want Dippin' Dots, Lemon Chills, Dreamland sandwiches and Coke and by gosh I know if I want to enjoy the game I will gladly pay the price.

Sorry but I disagree about the prices never dropping. It's simple economics. If the demand drops substantially, prices WILL drop. By how much, who knows, but they would drop.

hide bottled water and food

and have no guilt about it
I've managed to get many forbidden items over the years--primarily liquor in various shapes and sizes of bottles, from miniatures to handles! Never once got caught. I've gotten in with hot dogs, popcorn, candy, peanuts, etc. Pre-911, I had a backpack shaped cooler that was called a twin 2-litre. It would hold three 1.5 litre bottles of water. I'd freeze one bottle and put it in the middle between the two with cold water. It's the only way I survived back when I was stuck in the East upper deck. But, since the security changes brought about courtesy of the 911 bombers, can't get a backpack in anymore. Don't think I could survive the East upper deck anymore. The only thing I ever got stopped with and had confiscated was a 20-oz bottle of water. A lot of it depends on how diligent the gate attendants are at any given gate.
