I heard the same thing on one of the Birmingham TV stations last night. He would probably do them a good job. He has coached out there in the Pac-10 before coming to Auburn and knows the area well.

But to his credit he usually recognizes the bad decision and corrects it quickly.

Borges and Petrino were not bad decisions at all......... Now, firing Petrino probably qualifies as a bad decision though.

Not only is he a good coach, he's one of the good guys in college football. I don't care who you coach for, good things happen to good people.

I think he was referring to the Nugh Nall debacle as well as the OC before Petrino (I can't think of his name). Tubby seems to alternate between good hires and bad hires so since Borges was a good hire, not its time for a bad hire.

The only problem I see with this is if Al will able to leave the Barn and go back to Cali. I mean chitlin's and collard greens w/ fatback will problably be hard to come by out West!! Maybe he hasn't got too attached to them!:wink:

Noel Mazzone was his first OC came with him from OM. Tubby fired him then hired Petrino, who left AU to take the UL job. Tubs then promoted Hugh Nall to OC from OL coach. After 2003 he demoted Nall to OL coach and hired Borges.
