TommyMac's B. open thread got me to thinking about some of the wildest stunts I've seen on golf courses.
I've hit drivers off the toe of the club before, and the ball basically shot a line drive at a 45 degree angle and slammed into the golf carts parked at the tee box. I'm not sure of the PGA rules when the ball lies on the cart path underneath a cart.
I've bounced par three shots off the roof of condo's, hit an errant tee shot that landed on a tennis court, slammed a sliced drive into someone's metal patio awning that sounded like a canon firing, hit several ducks meandering across the fairway on a leisurely stroll, hit a drive so ferociously hard, and hooked it so horribly it landed (presumably) on I-595 (Alligator Alley in FL).
When I lived in Virginia I was playing with a buddy of mine. I don't know how he pulled this one off: He took a swat at one in the rough. I swear the ball went straight up in the air about 30 feet and came down and hit him in the head.
