I disagree. Seattle had more yards, first downs, and won TOP. Seattle was held to three and out twice. Pittsburgh was held to three and out four times.
If they make those two missed FGs, count the TD on that BS interference call, and take away the phantom TD by Rothlisberger, Seattle's up by 11. And you've got to figure Seattle gets at least three points (probably seven) when they catch the ball at the 1-2 yard line and have it brought back on the phantom holding call.
The refs totally took Seattle out of the game (and their gameplan). What a shame. I didn't have a dog in the fight as far as caring who won; but you hate to see the refs take a team out of a game.
The refs also made a horrible call early in the game when they called an incomplete pass on Seattle where the player clearly caught the ball, turned to run, and then fumbled when he was hit.
At the end of the day, though, the Steelers made the plays necessary to win the game. I don't think they outplayed the Seahawks; but were strong enough to take advantage of what the refs gave them and win the game. And that's all that counts.
I thought Holmgren did a horrendous job of clock management at the end of both halves.
Alexander had probably the quietest 95 yards of his career. No TD's for Mr. Touchdown in the Super Bowl. Oh well, maybe he'll get back to the Super Bowl again.
