I was looking over our class from last year and didn't see where there was anyone who grayshirted last year that I could remember.

Is this correct?

I also have a figure of about 78 on schol. right now with about 14 coming open
which would put us at 21 to reach 85. Have I looked at that wrong?

Thanks for the help!

It also appears CNS plans to weed out a few soft verbals and get better replacements.
hearing that today....may not be a "your scholly is pulled" quote, but kinda like a "you may not fit our scheme" or "you'll be mired on the depth chart."

I think this, while it may seem harsh, would benefit both team and recruit.

Also, a "if you take visits, you're not being counted" policy might be instituted.

I believe the last statement is what is happening. In fact last year R Ross said in an interview that even CMS followed that rule!I can think of at least 2 so called commits that CNS has already let something of that nature be known!I have to agree if a kid is firm why take officials to other schools. If he wants to look around then why commit! I have no problem if a kid is not sure, but to give a "soft" verbal then look for another offer while expecting the 1st school to honor the offer if none comes is unrealistic!I say cut them loose and move on!

Will the two OL be placed on grayshirts or be given a full ride. I mean the way CMS was going to take William Vlachos and Patrick Crump was by grayshirt. And if that is the case and bring them with the next class we would have at last count 12 with the space to sign 4 more if attrition is not in effect. So we go after Bailey,Corley, McNeil, McKnight, and one/three (Gibson etc.) more (if attrition) plus sign I hope Murphy and Brown,John which are sign and place. This would put us in or near the top 10 or close.

No gray shirts last year. scout.com is reporting that we can sign 16?
Actually , to be technical , we can "sign" as many as we want . We just cannot bring in more than the limit of 25 .

As far as 16 goes , that would be openings towards the total of 85 .

Consider this .......

16 + 2/3 GS's = 18/19

Account for about 3 FTQ's = 21/22

Project 4 or more from attrition = 25/26

What if 6 were projected from attrition ? = 27/28

Not at all likely but , quite possible .

That would total 27-28 leaving a combination of 2-3 GS's or non-Q's to arrive at the one year limit of 25 .

Then use the GS and "run 'em off" route in August , when all grades are known the total 85 . Simple . Right ?

Just a "best case" example but , there isn't enough time remaining for it to happen .:mad2:
