This has to be the biggest opening day in over twenty years! With it still being 99 days away is it too early for predictions?

So let's have it, make your prediction now about anything you'd like from the final score to starters to comparison of particular players or units.

I'll start out by predicting that both JJ and JHarris start the game.

Final Score: Clemson 24 Bama 27

I don't think it's too early for predicitons.

Now, if you had asked this back in January, like a lot of sportswriters tend to do, then yes...that would be a bit early (putting it nicely).

I really don't know what to expect in this game and don't have a good feel for it, yet. But, I do like your score, and I think it will be in that vicinity.

Never too early!

An ugly game, I think. Could go either way, but being a Bama fan, and never picking against my team, I'll say:

Bama 17 Clemson 16

Our D holds but our O doesn't have enough time for the young ones to learn the offense and does more 3-and-outs than they should. We get a couple big plays but can't sustain drives. They wear us down and score twice in the 4th Quarter to beat us.

28-17, mark my words. our D takes out Clem's running game completely but they stay in till late with great special teams efforts. our passing game is near perfect and is balanced out with a gashing running game that catches their DE's upfield. RTR!!:BigA:

I think that Clemson could end up suffering from the unusually high expectations. They're not accustomed to being picked at the top of the ACC and in the top 10 in some of the preseason polls.

It seems that in early games featuring a top 10 team, they often underachieve. They've had a lot of time to soak up those expectations, they're not completely re-acclimated, mentally, to football season and they're feeling those nerves. On the other hand, if the opposing team doesn't have the same national expectations, they're a bit looser and thinking more about what it will mean to win the game and less about the effects of losing it.

right now at this point I think Clemson wins a close game winning with a go ahead drive late in the 4th quarter sorta like how LSU beat us. My opinion could change depending on fall practice/injuries/ and other changes though. I just dont feel like we can contain their outside run game thus wearing us down in the trenches. please dont bash me guys!!

I think our defense wins this game for us. Our DL and secondary will suffocate Clemson's offense, confuse the qb and force them to be one dimensional with the running game.

I know it's hard for many to believe because we've been bad for so long but our defense has more depth now than it has in years. And our offensive line WILL GET IT. It's just a matter of them getting comfortable with what the coaches are asking them to do. Coach Saban has said a lot this offseason that this team is light years ahead of last year's. He just doesn't give out compliments. We should have learned that from last year's preseason.

Many will be surprised at how fast and quick our defense is. I saw it for myself at A-Day. A lot of guys have gotten bigger, faster, stronger. :BigA:

Bama 24
Clemson 17

Late trash yardage td gets Clemson to 17. But "real" score is 24-10.
