EDIT: TE Justin Jones has de-committed from Kentucky. He is no longer considering Kentucky and he is considering South Carolina and Bama among others.

Kentucky may lose Heritage’s Justin Jones to South Carolina or Alabama
The 6-foot-8, 250-pound Jones picked Kentucky last summer, but has been thinking about opening up his recruiting again in recent weeks.

“There’s a possibility [I could de-commit],” Jones said. “I’m not sure. My mom and I have been talking things over, and we’ll see.”
I find it a little strange that Trent Richardson has said that he is firmly committed to Alabama but he will take some official visits and he is listed as a soft commitment. Justin Jones is listed as a solid commitment to Kentucky yet he is visiting other schools and talking about de-commiting. lol

Re: TE Justin Jones Update

He has got great size and the TE has become a very important part of our offense. Would love to have him if Nick thinks we need him.

That's because Jones isn't committed to us. ;)

Re: TE Justin Jones Update

Kentucky in danger of losing Justin Jones
Tight end / defensive end Justin Jones' commitment to the Wildcats is on very thin ice.

He told ESPN affiliate Web site KentuckyInk.com, "I haven't officially de-committed from Kentucky, yet. Right now, I'm still committed. I just want to make sure and take a step back and talk with my coaches and my mom before I make any decision. It's as much my mom's decision as it is mine, so I wanna make sure that everyone is on the same page."

It appears that South Carolina and Alabama could make a run at Jones. Vanderbilt has also been in contact with him.

Re: TE Justin Jones Update: De-committed from UK and plans to attend the UK-Bama game

Jones Ends Kentucky Commitment
DE Justin Jones (6-8 250) of Conyers, GA has officially decommitted from Kentucky. Jones said he talked with his Gamecock recruiter Ron Cooper last week. He has not decided on official visits but said USC probably will get one. He does not have a favorite. Jones has offers from USC, UAB, ECU, Akron and Delaware. He's also hearing from Alabama, Vanderbilt and Notre Dame. He attended the Alabama at Georgia game last weekend and plans to attend the Kentucky-Alabama game this weekend.

6'8" 250...wow. Talk about a matchup problem for most linebackers.

Two Bama games in two weeks is encouraging.

I bet he was impressed at how we used out TEs in the game vs Georgia

Call me negative, but that is not a very impressive offer list.

I like his size and speed. I'd bet Coach Saban does also. I also think if we have any slots left he may get an offer.

If everyone remembers, Terrence Cody didn't get any major offers either, except from us. He's panned out pretty well.

Maybe one of the mods is CNS in disguise. :)
Everyone needs to stop with the personal attacks and learn how to get along. It starts with self respect and respecting of others, even if their opinions differ from yours. Aight! ;)

Alabama, South Carolina pursue Heritage TE Justin Jones
Two weeks after backing off a commitment to Kentucky, Heritage tight end Justin Jones has been busy working the recruiting trail.

He spent Saturday Oct. 4 in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and saw Alabama edge Kentucky 17-14. He plans to travel to Columbia, S.C., this weekend to watch South Carolina host LSU.

Jones has a scholarship offer from the Gamecocks. He’s lobbying for one from the Crimson Tide.

Hey folks remember what Coach Bryant always said, "One heartbeat, one team". All of us are after the same thing, no need for sparing between us, there are plenty of others outside of the BamaNation to spar with. Don't get me wrong, I have had a mod or two splain' things to me about sparing. I learned to check my ego at the door...

The latest news from Justin Jones looks like he may end up at Vandy although supposedly they want to make him a OT. Word from his coaches is Bama is his dream school and would jump on an offer. Unforunately spots are a hot commodity right now so I don't see the kid getting an offer. But I wish him luck where ever he ends up which may be Vandy or South Carolina.

I believe Justin Jones and A.J. McCarron became good buddies when they summer camped together in Tuscaloosa. I wish Bama had more room left in this class. It sure looks like a whole bunch of talented prospects that would attend Bama in a heartbeat are going to get left out.

Heritage TE Justin Jones ready to jump on Alabama offer
He recently backed away from his commitment to Kentucky and is currently entertaining offers from Akron, ECU, South Carolina and UAB. Jones is also talking with Alabama’s coaches, who have him on the Crimson Tide’s recruiting board.

“He really likes Carolina,” Pack said. “His dream would be to go to Alabama, but I’m not sure if they are going to offer. If they do, he would jump on it.”

If we don't get him it would be nice to see UAB get him. They have to spend some money on their facilities big time before they can attract any good players of Justin Jones caliber.
