Tebow

I think most of y'all are just whistling past the graveyard. Tebow is a special athlete and will make his mark in the SEC before he's done. Y'all act like he's just a one-trick pony and all he can do is run. He set passing records in the State of Florida as well in HS. Him and UM are gonna be a tough nut to crack for the next 3 years. Foolmer and Richt are likely gonna be battling for 2nd place in the SEC East.

I would agree with you 110%

I keep hearing a lot of people ridicule Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow, talking about how they won't cut it against SEC defenses, how they're overrated, etc. But, you know what? Right now Meyer is in his 2nd year at UF and has his team ranked #2 in the nation and certainly looks at this time to be the best team in the SEC. And Tim Tebow is having huge success doing his thing for Meyer, albeit it in a limited capacity right now. Whether some of you want to admit or not, there is a lot of talent there -- both in the coach and the up-and-coming QB.

Don't get me wrong. I'm already sick of hearing the media fawning all over both of them. But that doesn't diminish the talent or accomplishments of either Meyer or Tebow.

Never said the kid was not talented. I just don't think he is the second coming. I think right now he is the beneficiary of having no pressure on him to be the man and of having other teams prepare mostly for Leak. As for UM, well it's not like he came to a school with no talent or a state with no talent?

I think UF will win a National Title before Tebow graduates (or leaves early)...and it could be this year...if not, he's got three more years to get better--scary...

I'm not buying it until I see him play more than a snap or two a game. I wan to see him be a qb.

Once again Tommy Mac is spot on. Tebow is an exceptional athlete, who will be playing with some of the best talent in the country at UF. And whether we like it or not the talent level is going to get better as UM builds his program. Meyer inherited a program that was not short on talent but not the kind of talent he needed to run his offense. So what did he do, he adapted his offense to fit his existing talent, what a strange tactic. IMO, UM's offense at UF may never really be what it was at Utah because he has more and better talent. He will utilize Tebow in such a manner that will give them the best chance to win, not just forcing an offensive mindset that he has used in the past. Fulmer and Richt are going to be playing catch up, but they too will have deep talent pools to draw from, so it will probably come down to coaching and at this point
UM has the upper hand.

The beauty part is we get to see. I think things are about as good for UM as they are gonna be. I refuse to believe that the D Coodinators cannot adapt once they only have TT. Hide and watch. Also, the talent at all the big SEC schools will continue to grow.

The media is going to write about whoever's hot. UF and Tim are selling papers/air time, whatever, because they are playing great ball currently. Get used to it. Until the Gators stumble, they are going to stay in the news. Tim is a likeable, productive football player who gets good press right now and likely will continue to do so. I can think of a whole lot of not-so-high charactered players who have been deified in the past. Wish it was us or one of ours getting the good pub, but not right now. Just my opinion.

:biga2:

Geez, are you ever in denial if you think things are about as good as they'll get for UM. Get your head out of that ernge fog. UM, just in his 2nd year has already proved that he can recruit with the best of them and its highly unlikely that the incredibly rich talent pool in the state of Florida is just gonna suddenly dry up.

You viles are just gonna have to come to grips with the liklihood that your 98 $ea$on is gonna have to last y'all for a long, long time. Richt and UM are both better coaches than Foolmer and are in states that produce tons of talent. I don't see tutorsee sniffing even an SEC East title in the near future, much less an SEC title.

Urbi better hold onto his jockstrap because pretty soon the other four teams in
his own division arent going to be his only competition. If he thinks hes going
to win out each and every individual player head to head against us in the recruiting wars then he might need to quit sniffing the crack. Pretty soon
Bama is about to be back at full strength and well cherry pick their trees. We have always gotten players from the state of Fla and this time
will be no exception. I have positive faith that teams like Fla,barn, and lsu
that swiped players from our slates for the past 10 years are about to be brought back into reality on who they just up and take and rack up as far as talent. Everybodys daddy didnt go to fla and play for fla and last time I checked you can only sign so many due to nzaa parity. Same with us and every other school in this conference.

Tebow is not your ordinary quarterback. The guy bench presses over 500 lbs (that's not a typo...he benched 225 38 times at the combine). That is absolutely SICK for a guy his size. Most linemen can't bench what he can bench (most OL get about 15-25 reps @ 225). This kid is a beast, and is going to give a lot of people some headaches in the next few years. He's Bo Jackson combined with Brett Favre. The hype is warranted. SEC defenses do not scare him. LaRon Landry sure didn't scare him:

Hey, I think the kid's great and all but one torn ACL and he'll be humbled just like everyone else.

At some point, I am afraid a LB is going to take a shot at his knees when he tries to take a hit instead of taking a slide. I went back and added the "I am afraid" just to make it sound like I care about the kid. Sure, he's got talent and apparently has class, but he didn't pick the right school so now he must pay. :)

I think the biggest weakness of CUM's offense is that it takes the most valuable (irreplaceable?) asset of the team and puts him at risk, play after play. Somewhere, sometime, a defensive player is going to take a hard shot, cheap shot, even an illegal shot at those knees. It'll happen. His knees aren't made of stainless, but they may well end up being so...

I doubt it.

He played much of a game a few years ago with a broken leg. Even ran it in for a TD AFTER he suffered a clean break of his leg. That was like his 9-10th grade years. Didnt humble him then. The kid is a freak of nature that you dont often see. We lost a good one and I'm glad we wont have to deal with him much.

You just ain't whistling dixie. Tim will break a lot of records and ruin the Vols and Dawgs day more than not. IMO he is the real deal. Yes he can also pass. Last season CCSS showed Nease HS several times. He looked awsome in the State High School Championship game.
