I agree and with Coach Kubiak being an Aggie, he will probably get alot of slack cut to him for hitting the recruitng trail as well as getting his feet wet with the team a little early.I think Sherman is a good fit for the Aggies.
Good luck to him and aTm.
He seems boring at first glance but after digging deeper I see a lot of positive. Farve is probably a good judge of coaches, and he really liked Sherman when he was the head coach and GM with the Packers.
Texas A&M has scheduled a news conference for 11 a.m. today to introduce Mike Sherman as its football coach, replacing Dennis Franchione, who resigned Friday.
The Houston Chronicle reported Sunday that Sherman, 52, had emerged as A&M's leading candidate. Sherman was head coach of the Green Bay Packers from 2000-05, compiling a 59-43 record and winning three division titles.
It will be hard for anyone to pull Petersen away from Boise. He is getting paid 1 mil a year in a city that is hard to beat. His son also has a special medical problem and Boise is one of the few cities that has the medical care to treat him.I'm kinda surprised by this hire - I could see someone like Chris Peterson really doing well there. Wait and see, but now that fRan is gone, I hope A&M can start playing some real football again. i used to enjoy watching their defense play ball (and did under fRan as well, but for very different reasons)...
Ahh, I wasn't aware of the medical issues, makes sense. It will be hard for anyone to pull Petersen away from Boise. He is getting paid 1 mil a year in a city that is hard to beat. His son also has a special medical problem and Boise is one of the few cities that has the medical care to treat him.
who?
I don't understand why they went out and immediately hired Sherman. I mean, come on, it's only been 2 days since fran resigned. At least go out and try to hire the best guy. If you fail, so what, then you go back to Sherman.
