I am sure everyone is aware of Eryk Anders and being overlooked in talent rich Texas. His High School coach was shocked when no DIV 1 team came calling. I'm just wondering if this kid might remind us an awful lot of DT. Similar height, weight and speed. Don't know about his quickness, but with 41 tackles for loss and 12 sacks from the tackle position, I'd bet he's plenty quick and we can probably assume that he has great instincts and a nose for the ball.

Could we have gotten that lucky?

he has the measurables, but now he has to learn the LB position and hopefully his reactions/instincts are good enough he can learn it quickly. If not, he'll have to grow into a DE.

I won't be shocked if he is someone special! Sometimes the least recruited or walk-ons are the best players!

That's correct, but 41 of them were for losses.

You are correct, just ask Wallace Gilberry. He was in the same boat at one time. Anders was first team all Texas. Merry Christmas Alabama. His HS coach knows what the Tide is getting. Its great because Franchione and Torbush somehow missed this young man as well as other Texas teams. Its a Holly Jolly Christmas. With the Texas players of late it appears this will become a Bama Recruiters dream. "It starts with just one recruit." John Wooden. How true.
