That 2002 Tenn game was the loudest Rammer Jammer...

I just got through watching the 2002 Tenn game in Snotsville and I did not realize how loud our fans were with Rammer Jammer. I was at the game but I guess I did not know that our singing carried so well on TV. WE were located down in the end zone where no one could sit down (the seats are too small) and was yelling our hearts out.
I watched the section where our fans was singing about 20 times. I actually got goose bumps listen to Rammer Jammer.
That was an excellant job by our fans that night.
And I remember going to where the Bama dressing room was located and seeing a sea of crimson wating for the guys to walk to the bus.

That game should have started another streak, but alas, the ncaa had other plans. :mad2:

I remember watching that game and during the pre-game they were showing shots of the crowd and it seemed there was as much Crimson in the stadium as orange. What a great game. The last 2 have been tough to take but something tells me this year things are going to get turned around. Besides a questionable decision here or there, I believe Alabama's coaching staff has out-coached Tennessee's the last 2 years. I realize we lost both, but the gameplan was good enough to win.

If there is one game I want Alabama to win this year more than any other it's Tennessee. Yes, even more than Auburn.

Yep, the local news crews couldn't do after the game on the field interviews because it was so loud. They eventually got fed up and quit trying. I was one of the thousands that stayed about an hour after the game Rammer Jammering.

Does anyone have a video clip or sound clip that they can post on here? I've heard it before, but would love to hear it again. I was down in the corner also. 3rd yard line, 5th row. There's a Daniel Moore print from that game. Very sentimental

I was in...

the other end zone - the result of being invited by a friend (UA grad) who lives in Cleveland, TN and is married into a UT family). His wife was convinced UT was going to lose and didn't want to go. :) We were mostly in a sea of orange, except for a half-dozen or so Bama coeds sitting beside and in front of us. One was particularly obnoxious, from the Vol point of view. Every time we did something good, she would turn all the way around and shake her C/W pom-pom in their faces and scream "Take that," often embellished with obscene descriptives. Finally, one old biddy refused to let her out to go to the rest room. I was convinced she was going to get us all killed. Man, that was fun! :D

I was there...

the reason it was so loud was because all the orange was gone by the start of the 4th qtr.

I was there - 50 yard line!!!

I loved the lateral pass we picked up and took it to the house! Although I do not like to talk about that game, that season, and the 2001 season. I was lied to about these three things.

Aside from win number six last year that got us back to bowling, that '02 Vol game was our last significant win.

It's been too long, it's time for this elephant to get up from this deep sleep and get to stompin' again . . .

I am crossing my fingers that we will be able to be even louder this year than we were in 2002. Chanting Rammer Jammer always gives me the chills!

I was there too...

First time ever at Neyland and it was GREAT!!!! I went with a UT season ticket holder's family. I got on the shuttle bus and it took an old man to notice that I had on an Alabama jersey and asked "Who let him on the bus!" I thought he was talking about me being black at first , then came the rousing boos from the rest of the bus! :) It was great. At the game, they treated me well and about six different UT fans asked me about my opinion on the "questionable plays" (Was he down? :)) I was sitting directly beneath the VOLtron about twenty rows down. The way back on the bus NOT ONE of them could look me in the eye! I wish I could have seen that old guy again!

If you like hearing Rammer Jammer before games while you're tailgaiting, make sure you get a copy of the 1998 MDB cd. When we recorded this year, Rammer Jammer was not among the cheers we recorded.

Don't you know we'd bring the house down! That moment would probably be the single loudest that the stadium has ever been. I will be there if it happens. :)
It's going to happen. I remember last year's Iron Bowl. It was loud, and you could tell Auburn was shook up. But, the timing just wasn't right. It was their best team ever, and of course, BAMA was no where near full strength. But this year is going to be different. I can just feel it.

I was in hicksville for that too..

I remember sometime during the fourth quarter, while sitting next to the lovely Dubba Twins, and listening to my headset, I heard Snake Stabler say the funniest thing Ive heard him say. He said the Tennessee fans were so quiet, "you can hear a rat pee-pee on cotton".

That night, my brother-in-law and me closed down the bars on strip in Knoxville. What a night!!

I was at that game it was pretty loud, but I also was at the Sugar Bowl in 93 that was even louder. I think I had about as much fun at the UT game as I did in New Orleans that year.
