This is a serious question and I've wanted it answered for years now........Who are the members of the 'mafia' in UA affairs? Is it LR Jordan? Paul, Jr? WHO?
We hear so much about them interfering.............WHO is it? Gene Stallings and B. Curry refer to it often. And I've heard about it often in the last month during the post Shula era. Does anyone have specifics?

Belle,
Coach Stallings has never refered to "Alabama mafia, because there is no such thing. This BS started by Bill Curry and the national media. Alabama has boosters but not like Curry says.

Robert Witt is the president.
Mal Moore is the AD.
Nick Saban is the head coach.

This coming from "Godfather" ;)

Classic! lol!!

IN an interview today Stallings said he never had to answer to any "mafia" and i dont take anything curry says seriously. I believe its probably a major problem of the university but its an issue like the machine....no one talks about it because the pople whod have to fix it are part of the problem. Thats about all i know and i'm just a student...i'm sure they're are people who know more than i do.

Thanks Don Vito (- bows to kiss the ring -) , we all know that there is no such thing as "Mafia" .

RTR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:BigA: BIB - BAMA IS BACK !!!!!!!! Learn it . Know it . Live it .

I think Coach Stallings made a good point..if you want to be a big time coach in football or want to play in big games do you go from Alabama to Kentucky? Coach hit it right on the head, Curry statements embarrassed him. Finebaum remarked Coach Stallings took Curry's manhood away...great statement...

One thing for sure, Bill Curry is too much of a coward to name any names. Even when he was asked on Cold Pizza today who they were, he said "They are people who are unnamed."

As I stated earlier, if the Alabama Mafia exists, Coward Curry should have been sent to swim with the fishes in Lake Tuscaloosa. Since it didn't happen I have to assume said Mafia doesn't exit. Coach Stallings said it best today when he said that any coach that wanted to be a big-time coach certainly wouldn't leave Alabama to go to Kentucky.

As with any university, there are some pretty powerful boosters who have done much good (and not just for football). Scholarships, buildings, and the like are named in their honor. But there is not a group of unnamed people doing unspeakable things behind the scenes.

Following this program since the mid sixties, I've never heard the term "Alabama Mafia" till Curry started using it. I don't think anyone but him does, and that's probably because he created it. A made up excuse as to why he generally sucked as a head coach. Curry would been better served as a stand-in to Mr Rodgers.

Who is this "Jim Neighbors" you speak of? Do you mean Jim Nabors or Gomer Pyle fame? On the other hand, there are the Neighbors who played for Bama--Billy and Wes Neighbors.

Curry cooked up the Alabama mafia thing. He has said it before on ESPN. He tries to put it on I think it was Joalb Thomas (if I have the old prez's name right). That is who the fool said it today.
