Most commentators I have seen who claim “not to be of any party” are pretty easy to peg.
Really they both make me angry, but I’ll probably for the foreseeable future be voting mostly democrat until the Republican Party goes back to center.

But I think where this debate starts and ends is how much HCR has been used on the board and has had very little pushback. Most of that is in a large part due to the lack of new activity on the board and the fact that either most conservatives are banned for saying stuff to far in the past or just don’t like the open season aspect on the board.

I think the most problematic part of HCR is that she hides behind the title of historian while also trying to be a political commentator. Yes politics, history, and economics overlap but the second you start making predictions or opinions about the modern world you are no longer in the capacity of historian and you are now a political commentator.

I agree about HCR. She throws in a few posts about her home life to paint herself as just a folksy backwoods woman in Maine.

But her politics are pretty easy to figure out and I suspect she has always been a Democrat. Nothing wrong with that, but let’s not pretend otherwise.

There is a Facebook page I used to follow that was history related. The host would post historical stuff every day. They were well written and I enjoyed them. But she would occasionally throw in comments that made it pretty clear she was a Trump supporter without actually saying it. So I clicked the unfollow button.

I haven’t visited NS in a while. 3 pages and I’m already severely drained. I do admit, I enjoyed watching the bilateral meltdown that resulted from one post.

On the flip, I fell down a rabbit hole earlier trying to see if Kate Jackson was alive. Ended up on a site where there were two split groups viciously going after one another about “real beauty” and who was truly more attractive; Kate or Cheryl Ladd.

The venom was joyously sad. I’ll say these last few pages were on par with the 70-somethings clashing over Angel beauty.

Ironically, I believe they were mostly Liberals there too. Just judging by the reactions toward one guy who was using multiple “C” words.

I’ll visit again on Nov 6th. Until then y’all have fun

Oh the irony. Republicans, who seem to want everybody to have every sort of gun, now have their panties in a wad over HB having one. :ROFLMAO:
it's more about the "deep state" lying cia who are the real purveyors of disinformation and totally in the pockets of criminal mastermind/senile biden and the commie libs

I'm just thankful everyone on here goes and finds their articles to prove their thoughts and beliefs are right. Before I got off FB I was in a political subgroup where no one posted articles to prove they were right. They just bickered back and forth. They may not know they're out there. I may just log back on and direct them here. They would be thrilled to know there are articles on the internet that prove they were right all along.

Clyburn: “What has happened in the last four years on student debt for instance. Joe Biden has eliminated…over $60 billion for people saddled with student loan debt.”

Neil Cavuto “Who’s paying for that Congressman?”

Clyburn: “What do you mean who’s paying for it!”

Cavuto: “Who’s paying for that debt relief?”

Clyburn: “Nobody is paying for that relief! This is interest! This is not the principal. The principal was paid back a long, long time ago.”

The PSLF Program, which was established under the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007, permits Direct Loan borrowers who make 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan, while working full-time for a qualifying employer, to have the remainder of their balance forgiven.
Bush signed it into law.

The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018 provided limited, additional conditions under which borrowers may become eligible for loan forgiveness if some or all of the payments made on Direct Loans were under a nonqualifying repayment plan for PSLF. This reconsideration is referred to as the Temporary Expanded Public Service Loan Forgiveness (TEPSLF) opportunity. Detailed information about the limited opportunity, including how to request consideration, is available on the TEPSLF page.
Trump signed that into law.

Bipartisan support, though Democratic support was much higher.

_______

But this program was mismanaged for years and the people who qualified were denied the forgiveness promised to them in the law.

What Biden has done is to make the program work very much like it is supposed to work and much better than it has worked in the past.

PSLF was specifically mentioned in the video as if Biden made the whole thing up out of thin air.

Why do republicans get upset about the law being followed and regular people getting the relief due them in law?

I think the lack of conservative voices on the board is due to how their movement has been twisted beyond recognition by the man who has hijacked their party. Liz Cheney is a conservative and look how they treated her.
legitimate question, do Trumpers even consider themselves to be conservatives? I don’t think so.

No that’s just not true as it relates to this board. I understand how you would perceive it to be that way because of your political leanings. The truth is that for quite some time this board was straight up hostile to any point of view right of center. It was so bad because a few posters would gang up on a right of center poster until they ran them off. I watched it more than once. I’ve had private conversations with posters that actively avoid the board because of this. It wasn’t a discussion. Only certain points of view were welcome. That’s still how quite a few would like it to be, but it’s shifted a little bit lately.

This board has a long history before you started posting. the W Bush years were just the opposite of what it is now and I like it much better.

no

they would come here and make stupid outlandish claims that Trump made and we would ask them to back them up with facts. Which they of course could not do. Then they would run, complain or both. The ones that could either make actual logical arguments or didn't care how stupid they looked backing lies never left

Do we even have any posters now that will admit to supporting Trump? I think we’ve got several that obviously prefer Trump but in my opinion they are ashamed to say so.

that's the "totally not Trump supporter" group, most are just too ashamed to admit to actually being Trump supporters

Be careful with those broad brushed statements. More people than you realize mean what they say when they said they didn't vote for the idiot. I'm one of those and have been pretty consistent in my stance and actions. I know I'm not the only one either.

I was neither talking about or thinking about you when I made that statement
