The Good: two veteran guys who've been solid role players and not stars their entire time in Tuscaloosa coming up big and making plays on a huge stage. Tana Patrick on the fumble, and Jarrick Williams on the fake punt, and also making a couple key stops in the second half on third down to get the defense off the field.

The bad: We had some communication issues in the secondary in the first half.

The ugly: les miles going for it on 4th down after three straight sacks.

The Good: Second half was the best half of football we've played all season, and arguably since the Rematch of the Century against LSU to end 2011. Also, run defense held up really well in its first true test against a power running game.

The Bad: LSU outplayed us by a decent margin in the first half, and had we not been the recipient of two fumbles then we would have been down early and trying to weather the storm.

The Ugly: Cornerbacks really couldn't keep up with the LSU wide receivers on the back end. We obviously overcame that against LSU, but it does alarm you with potential match-ups with Mizzou and FSU.

The last sack, on fourth down by Adrian Hubbard, left Mettenberger rolling in pain on the cold, damp grass."I could not in my stomach not call an offensive play," Miles said. "I just couldn't punt it.
"(Mettenberger) is miserable. He's fine health-wise, but his heart is sunk."

I'm really not sure what to say about this. Has the hatter really gone mad? I'm not one to advocate lying down on the field (truly no pun intended), but isn't there a time when it just makes sense to accept defeat and move on while protecting your key assets (along with your psyche).
