For such a special occasion, can this thread be relabeled, just for once, as The INEPT, INEPTER AND INEPTEST*? 'Fraid Milroe had a hand - or two - in all of 'em.

*Lifetime achievement performance - 1st quarter was the ugliest and most hideous transmogrification of an Alabama football team mine eyes have seen in 60+ years
Transmogrification? Is that you, Calvin?

The good: defense was great, and that was Milroe's last game.
The bad: QB play
The ugly: the eeyores coming out to overreact to a meaningless bowl game

Good: 2024 season is over and we have basketball to look forward to
Bad: QB play today and OC play calling
Ugly: This could happen again next year.

Good - riddance....hopefully. Defence starting to look much better..good sign for next year.
Bad - KDBs apparent paralysis to make QB changes, the OL to block anyone...and game prep. SEC in the post season ( a really bad year, maybe redeemed if UT or UGA win it all...bitter sweet)
Ugly - if true, the player takeover of the program, letting Michigan beat us again with a poor team, and of course our QB play

Ugly: How some fans kept defending Milroe but were dead silent when he played badly.
It usually happens that way. When he beats weed eater tech after throwing 5 tds you see endless comparisons to Lamar Jackson and Vince Young. When he struggles but we win vs a mid tier SEC team it’s “well it’s the offensive line, or he was hurt, or the OC”. Should we beat someone like Georgia or LSU we have endless “admit you were wrong” threads. But when he lays an egg like yesterday… dead silence.

I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I saw that a week ago or so in a thread about either the Portal or NIL.

It's been endless excuses all year long.

At some point people have to be willing to admit that despite their positivity and support Milroe was his own worst enemy and his failures were as much his responsibility as any successes.

He made wrong read after wrong read on Zone Read RPO's all year to the point a RB dipped as soon as the Portal opened.

He made the wrong throw or the badly inaccurate throw play after play and game after game to the point multiple WRs dipped as soon as the portal opened.

He couldn't field a snap cleanly in 2023 to the point it gave the Center the Yips and he dips and become the #1 Center in CFB the next season.

He MELTS DOWN mentally when a defense brings pressure and becomes a turnover machine with both fumbles and INTs

He threw for 16 Tds and 11 INTs and ran for 20 TD and had 9 Fumbles with 6 Fumbles lost

The bulk of those TOs were in the last half of the season when a season is won or lost.

From the USCe game to Mich he had 5 passing TDs and 9 INTs and the Mercer game was the only game he had a positive TD to INT ratio

The game split stats tell the story too.

Versus 3 Non FBS P5 teams he had 7 Passing Tds and 0 INTs

But vs the 10 FBS opponents he had 9 Passing Tds and 11 INTs

He was a Terrible QB and a Terrible player and he absolutely directly lead to losses vs Tenn, OU, and Mich and was at least 50% responsible for the Vandy loss.

I'd be happy if at least ONE wildly overly positive cult of Milroe stan would speak up and admit they were wrong about him but It's not going to happen.

I will just never get over the Milroe is the next Vince young thread after the MTSU game. It might have been the worst thread topic ever posted on here that was concerning football…. IDK the Tennessee is a better program is up there too.

well there was also a thread demanding an apology from the naysayers. that might have been worse.

Then we had a few saying that he was a better quarterback than Bryce and Tua and they would fight you over it.

Point is… no matter how you feel about Milroe, it’s probably best he leaves for this board’s sake. Because these last two years have ranged from being totally bonkers at times to a reimagined prelude to WWI.

I forgot about the "better than Bryce" posts.

I can't find the thread or the post but I predicted before the season that Milroe would not be the starter by the end of the season. I was wrong but several suggested if that turned out to be the case then alot went wrong.

A few of us could see this train wreck coming even before the season knowing what we know behind the scenes.

That was something.

To create that thread and then go silent for an entire week after Tenn got dunked on and then crawl back into the light right after the Mich loss.

It's suspect behavior for sure.

At this point, anyone who will bench a player who is almost single handedly tanking the team with every snap he touches. I don’t understand how you can let such incompetence on the field destroy your team and any chance at winning.
I don't agree with not pulling Milroe, but I understand why he didn't.

We have a team cancer and the treatment for cancer is horrific. Sometimes you radically cut it out (benching, kicking off the team) and it's a nice, clean removal. But, sometimes the cancer has woven its way into other organs, multiple lymph nodes, etc. and you chemically attack it (cleaning house), but that destroys the immune system as it attacks from within. The side effects of this are horrendous. Either option can heal, but either option can lead to death.

I've taken over groups with cancers many times in my career and how you deal with it is ALWAYS a crap shoot. Sometimes I've removed a kid and it's like a breath of fresh air rushed into the group. Sometimes I've removed one and multiple others followed him out. Sometimes you make their experience so bad that they remove themselves. Sometimes you just have to ride it out until graduation. No matter what you choose, you hope that you made the right decision and it doesn't tank your program.

It's obvious that I'm team DeBoer, for now, but yes I am frustrated after what I saw this season; however, I know that he knows more than I do. He knows the dynamic of the team. He knows how Milroe and LANK have infected the team way more than I do. I want to give him a chance to build his team. I want to see what he can do when he hasn't had to sit on his hands for a month while the rest of college football cherry picked our players. I want to see what he can do when he's had time to correct the mental/discipline issues from the past two seasons (because we can't forget how horribly undisciplined Saban's last two teams were). I'm going to give the guy a chance to do what he's always done: establish his program and win. In case we've forgotten who we hired, here it is:
