Looks like Evan Mathis made a good showing on Saturday. Was in the top 5 of several agility drills plus he put up 35 reps of 225 on the bench. Haven't seen any other Bama players yet. Kinda curious if Wesley Britt was at the combine?

As for other players, Clarett (sp.?) took a big nosedive with a 4.8 in the 40. He'll be lucky to make the 2nd round with all the RB's in this draft. However, Ronnie Brown looked a like a stud. He posted a 4.4 and a 4.3 in the 40 plus he looked real good in position drills. I bet he goes in the 1rst ahead of the Caddy.

Most teams have Ronnie ahead of Caddy on their list. The thing about Caddy is, to the scouting experts, that he may not be able to be a consistent in-between-tackle runner. Also they are really impressed with Ronnie's versatility after a good showing of catching the ball and pass blocking. There is no way Caddy goes ahead of Ronnie at this point.

Ronnie is heavier than the Caddy, runs faster, blocks better in the backfield, and is able to catch balls out of the backfield. Your right, he will go ahead of the Caddy regardless of who the actual starter was at the Barn.

The only other #s I've seen is Britt did 24 reps on the bench with a BYU lineman doing 44.

Hudson has been limited since he tweaked his knee again about a month ago.

anthony bryant flamed out with 22 reps @ 225. that's really unimpressive. i lift three times a week, and at 5'8"/210 get 10 reps at that weight. he weighed in at something like 340 and looked bloated and flabby. i thought he was pretty much of a disappointment for bama. but he'll probably get drafted low b/c he can fill one of those gilbert brown-type hole plugger positions. i wouldn't be surprised to see him in the near-400lb range if he makes it to playing on sundays.

I'm not defending AB, because I would be willing to bet he wasn't a weightroom warrior, but I would imagine that the distance he has to push a weight is probably at least twice as far as you. I'm still amazed at how people who lift a weight 5 inches off their chest think they're as strong as someone who moves the same weight 24 inches or better.

AB hold the school record in the squat - 755 lbs

well, drsmith,
i've been lifting weights for over 20 years and know what i'm doing. in fact, i've trained with a legendary 5 time world powerlifting champion who has trained several other world champions, among them the current women's world champion in the bench and dead lift. so don't imply that i'm in the "5 inches from the chest" bench press club.
i'm not a prospective professional athlete, but i know proper technique and practice it in the gym. regardless of the distance between the bar and chest, there is no excuse that a guy with AB's frame can't do better than he did yesterday.

He was imprssive for a guy that size...glad he's out of the SEC.
Matt Jones will go down as one of the most unheralded talents the SEC has ever seen. Arkansas owes him big time for many games they have won the past few years. Something about him reminds me of Brett Farve.

That's not a really good showing for Wesley. I would have figured he would have went over 30 reps.

I watched the BYU linemen and I think it was 43 reps which is impressive.

Davefrat, I guess Britt is a big disappointment too since he only did 2 more than the bloated and flabby Bryant? Why do some people always have to insult others? So what he did 22 and you can do 40...what do you want a cookie?
