Bo--I respect your opinion, but I don't see rejecting the NIT as poor sportsmanship. In football, rejecting a bowl bid is not that rare, is done for a variety of reasons. I don't see the NIT as any different. Like the bowls, the NIT is a "for-profit" business venture. Financial considerations alone may warrant not accepting the invitation.
Notice that I'm not doing any bashing here, not asking for anyone's head. My hunch, and it's only a hunch, is that the seniors on this team wouldn't give a flip about playing in the NIT. Heck, I can't tell from what I read in the press that these guys even like each other any more. I haven't read any "one for all and all for one" from these guys since Christmas.
Two years ago I stuck with them through every game of the NIT and would do so again, just like I do with the football team and baseball team--I'm there to the end. It just a question of when the end comes.
