" “The Crimson Tide is the only school in the SEC that did not lose a scholarship player during the late portal period. This is an incredible job by Kalen DeBoer, Courtney Morgan, and the entire Alabama Crimson Tide coaching staff. " - article

Since Saban retired I've not seen too many good signs of forward progress but not having a single player bail after spring practice says that at least we have a team, I don't know if they are any good, but if they play together and for each other I hope we see three things, one: some consistency, which we certainly had none of last year, some pride, Vandy.... really... , and I hope we see them improve as the season goes on rather than regress.

Some of what DeBoer has said, reminds me of Nick Saban's philosophy regarding players. It's all part of "the process".

we did see the d improve in the last half of the season. it gives me a little bit of hope for this year.

if our d is able to pick up where we left off, and we put something resembling an actual deboer/grubb offense on the field, we could extend our streak against the puppies in the state of georgia in nice fashion and get another chance to see if we can build off of the success of beating the crap out of the puppies since we failed so miserably at that last year.

I think part of the reason the D didn't do better was because the way the offense was ineffective the last part of the season and put them it bad situations. It sort of resembled the year before under CNS.

I agree that the lack of outgoing transfers is an indication of team chemistry, including satisfaction with coaching.

I absolutely disagree with the connection the author tries to make with DeBoer’s buyout. He’s clearly trolling for clicks based on the eye-catching number.

DeBoer’s buyout is a contractual matter, and would be the same whether we had 0 entrants into the portal or 85. DeBoer’s success in the transfer portal didn’t “protect” his buyout in any way.

Example #8,340,692 of the decline in journalistic critical thought.

I didn't get that part of the story either.
