Saudi hostage Paul Johnson has apparently been beheaded reports CNN. This hits pretty close to home since my father was an acquaintance of his. Also my father currently works on govt. contract in Kuwait! Thoughts and prayers go out to all the men and women deployed over seas!

That's exactly the reaction they're hoping to get. They don't think Americans have the stomach to see this through. They're banking on a lack of resolve on the part of the American public. Sad to say, but they're probably right.

the general public in America has gotten soft over the last 30 years.

sadly, it will take an event even more horrible than 9-11 to change their attitude.

while i don't suggest "nuking" the whole place, i do think a continual overt military presence is needed in the region... not just in Iraq and Afghanistan.
