I just read the tread about shula being gone in a couple of years and I've thought that was the case when he was hired just to get us thru this hard time , but are offense is easy to prepare for is another thing that was said I think that is one of our problems. How many balls have been thown to the tightends this season , I honestly can not remember one time. I mean are offense is already predictable even when Brodie was in except for you had to respect the deep route then . My whole point is with him out and down two backs why not throw to the tight ends somewhat. If we throw the ball to a tight end on the last drive of the tennessee game its probaly completed 100% because we never do it and we would have caught them off guard and probaly won the game. The tight end is one of the best weapons in football I just don't know why we do not use them and have not been. And also I beleive we do beat Miss ST and make it to a bowl game . After that I think we should go all out and throw the ball alot more against LSU and Auburn ,we will probaly throw a few ints but what do we have to lose , I mean in the second half of the three real teams we have played the run game has bogged completely down in the second half. Our run game is really good only between the 20's because when we do get down they stack up and dare us to pass so lets come out the first drive of some of these last few games and come out passing the ball to tight ends and wideouts etc. ,and not to the backs. Someone give input please. Thanks

Okay.....follow closely now...

Johnston also had 2 catches against Ole Miss (I think they're a real team, aren't they?), another for a TD against WCU (ok, they're not real), and another against S. Carolina (are they real?). He's also missed some time due to injuries, as has David Cavan.

Really, this stuff is not hard to find.

actually, i distinctly remember a playaction roll out to clint johnston in the UT game for a first down. also, there is always a TE running a route during a pass play. he does have to be open you know. i get your point, but the TE is not the answer to all of our problems. we need to not turn the ball over. that is the real key. take away our turnovers this year, then look at what our record would be.

But show me where in a a game besides running the ball we actually use the tight end as a weapon . Is the spelling fine know oh great one.

USC's tight end caught all of 14 passes last year and has 8 this year...
LSU's tight end caught 13 passes last year....Both won a NC without throwing a ton of passes to the tightend.
You score points by putting the ball in the hands of your playmakers, regardless of position...

Eric Butler at Miss State is leading all SEC TEs in catches with a whopping 10 receptions....so i guess every SEC coach forgot that you have to throw to the tight end to win....
