Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
I'm already planning camping trips and come long overdue cleaning out of the attic. Fall weather is so nice, it's kinda sad it's football season. I get so much less done.

It is what it is.
Same here Audio, the wife and I already have a weekend fall trip planned that any quarantine mandates handed down by the state won't impact. Just a get away for us. Long needed break for overly busy parents. We're already planning on doing a lot of stuff outside in our back yard. We've got several acres with woods behind us. It's not "real" camping but my kids don't care. It will be exciting for them to have a camp fire, smores and a tent setup that if they get "scared" can easily get out of and come inside. LOL! I hate football may not happen. But it's not my entire existence. I'll miss it but at the same time will fully enjoy the other things we have planned.

Yard work, clearing trees, burning brush. Things I normally won't do on Saturday's in fall because of football. I also plan on taking the kids camping as a family. We usually do scout camping once a month, but I don't plan on going this year, even if they plan it.

based on the comments in that article, i'm beginning to think there's a good chance we won't be seeing much football in 2021 either
I agree. As crazy as it is to even think about, the 2021 season is in as much jeopardy.as the 2020 season. Even now, 13 months before the fall of 2021. If things continue down this path, 2022 is no guarantee either.

I do not believe this is reasonable. Fall of 2021 is not in danger. Calling 2022 into question is just silly. This is not The Stand.

The German company BioNTech has entered into collaborations with Pfizer, based in New York, and the Chinese drug maker Fosun Pharma to develop their mRNA vaccine. In July, they posted preliminary results from their Phase I/II trials in the United States and Germany. They found that the volunteers produced antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, as well as immune cells called T cells that respond to the virus. ... On July 27, they announced the launch of a Phase II/III trial with 30,000 volunteers in the United States and other countries including Argentina, Brazil, and Germany. The Trump administration awarded a $1.9 billion contract for 100 million doses to be delivered by December and the option to acquire 500 million more doses.

That puts fall sports 2020 in a totally different category than fall 2021.

I agree with @Tidewater here. If vaccine trials go well AND enough people take the vaccine(s) 2021 will be (pardon the unintentional pun) a brand new ballgame.
It's possible that the BioNTech vaccine could flop in Phase III.
And a meteor could hit the earth before the 2021 season.
2020 may well be dead. Long live 2021.

I think this has less to do with the P5 conference’s willingness to play the season and more to do with the concern that the virus could be the condition that creates broad, cross-sectional player organization around health and safety but the organization never goes away and becomes more compensation/revenue-sharing focused beyond 2020. They’d rather burn this season to the ground than sow the seeds for cross-conference player solidarity.
