We had to beat Florida twice in 1999 to win the SEC title.

Get over it and quit whining.

LIFE is not fair!! who cares what their coon butts think. what matters is what the BCS thinks.. I know one thing, if Bama faces LSU again, it will be a game like no other in the history of these 2 teams!! :cool2:

It's a lot more "fair" than LSU getting into the big game with 2 losses in 2007. Besides, doesn't matter if it's fair or not, the BCS is what it is. They better worry about beating Arky first and our guys better be focused on the boogs. Just win baby, that's all we need to do and the rest will take care of itself.

I agree. I think it's fair and I couldn't care less what they or anyone else think. I also think it would be fair if we had to play Arky again in a rematch for the BCSCG, which is still a possibility (Bama beats Barn, Arky beats LSU, Bama beats UGA).

people on this board who have been BCS advocates have long tried to argue that the regular season is most important. The same Tide fans who argued with me "we shouldn't have to beat Florida twice" (2009) are now suddenly changing their tune to "well, we deserve a rematch" - but I suspect none of them would want it had we won.

Now let me be fair - MANY Tide fans have been ambivalent & honest enough to say we had our shot. But the unique circumstance - Oregon had also played LSU - changed the argument completely.

What this is going to wind up proving is the validity of a rematch when those two teams are best. Your point is also well made but heres a better one: in 2001, Tennessee had to play LSU twice to get to the national title game. I don't recall any LSU fans saying Tennesseee shouldn't have to beat them again.

Maybe if there was another team that was semi-deserving... but after these last two days, who do they think should make it?? I believed all along that the 2 best teams played one another on Nov. 5, but with the collapses in front of us, we now not only are the second best team, but we absolutely deserve to be ranked as such.

I have a friend doing this exact thing. With his logic, LSU might as well just be given the National Championship now, because no one is worthy to play them.

If I'm an LSU fan, I'd rather not play Bama again, either. I'd much rather play Oregon, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Stanford, etc.

Truth is, they KNOW Bama outplayed them and they escaped with the win. So be it. They just know the truth: Bama is the main threat to their run at the crystal ball.

I thought that it was unfair that the officials gave Reid that interception in the last game.

Time for redemption - first against *U, then against LSU.

Quite frankly, they were lucky to win that game. Alabama shot itself in the foot several times, and the interception at the 1 yard line was a blown call.

Life isn't fair. In every other sport, this is common place. Teams win in the regular season, then have to play rematches that determine championships. Teams get to play for titles without winning their conference.

We didn't deserve to get in the title game if all these teams won. But every single one of them wet the bed. So now, we're in if we beat Auburn. That's no guarantee, but I expect Alabama to be more than fired up after last year's game.

To be fair I think the consensus on this board was that BAMA didn't deserve a shot as long as there was any other undefeated BCS-qualifying team out there...its a wacky year and those undefeateds have all fallen, some to unranked lesser opponents, so now it comes down to who has the best resume and best team. Right now Bama looks to be the best 1-loss team, so yeah we should be in the mix and it is fair, like it or not.

LSU fans, apparently along with everyone else, are also assuming they go undefeated, but the season isn't over yet, and the BCS could very well have 2) one-loss teams playing for all the marbles. Still lots of possible scenario's could play out.

I have a question for LSU fans." if you truly think that LSU is the best team in the country, why does it matter who you play in the BCSNCG????"

But before I get ahead of myself, don't you guys have to play Arky and UGA back to back. good luck!!

trust me, if you make it thru the next 2 games, you will not care who you meet for the NC.

LSU fans who think taht a rematch with Bama is unfair are ones that are scared to death that Bama would march into New Orleans (N'awlins) and snake the national title away from them. They knew that they did NOT beat Bama on November 5th but merely escape from that game. For all I am concerned nothing was settle from that game.

LSU fans better hope they don't get a rematch because something tells me those Cajuns are not going to like the outcome of the rematch game.

Why are rematches good for the NFL, NBA, NHL, Boxing, MMA, but not division 1A football? When the two best teams in the sport resides in the same conference you let them play out the game and decide who is better. That is why I wasn't too upset at the thought of a Michigan/OSU rematch a few years ago.

They're LSU fans, what do you expect?

I guess we should just eliminate the BCSNCG...or they can play Houston.
