My wife came out to the garage after I moved everything out into a storage building in preparation for painting the garage floor and walls and said: "look at you go with your bad self" (I think she was channeling Superfly, or possibly Huggy-bear from Starsky and Hutch?) and way to go, baby.

An hour later she ninja tripped me going through the house, denied it, and said it was my fault for "clombering" around like I always do.

Most of that is true. :rolleye2:

I was recently asked to serve as deacon of building maintenance at church.

I was honored that (1) the committee thought enough of my construction background to consider me and (2) even greater, that in spite of my faults and follies, they considered I would still be a candidate to be a 'leader' at church.

Word recently got back to me about some compliments that were paid to me and my practice in a "upper level hospital system meeting" regarding our reputation/standing/dependability in the community. Always feel good to know how your colleagues feel about the work you do.

In late September I sold a custom-built piece of equipment to a customer, and I was to build that piece of equipment for him. I let him know then that it would take me 30 days to complete the build, and that I would require 1/2 of the total price up front so that I could purchase certain components he required on the item he was purchasing. I would collect the remaining balance upon delivery.
Last week, I called him and told him I was ready to deliver. I delivered the piece of equipment as promised, ON TIME, ON BUDGET, and he was completely satisfied with his purchase. He wrote me a check for the balance due, then smiled at me, shook my hand and told me "You are a man of your word".
That's the kind of compliment that makes it worth all the other hardships I have to endure. :)

The compliments I receive are somewhat sparse due to my lack of hipness, good looks, brains, sensitivity, charm, or decorum of any type.

When I receive compliments they usually have to do with the passion with which I perform interpretive dance.
