After the insanity of the 2020 tp shortage, I figured this would no longer be permitted under ANY circumstances. I know that this is the barn and all, but did 2020 teach them nada?

As I remember it, growing up in a community when someone got their "yard rolled" felt as if it was a sign of being popular. Not in the sense you rolled a hated teacher or principal's yard, but there was a sense that people kinda like you and you'd feel you're cool if you get your yard rolled.

This explains why Barners roll their own yard.

Cults generally have traditions or rituals that make little or no sense. And they love to throw around “family” and “us against the world” notions.
Reason I see the Barn as less of a “fanbase” and more “cult” in their behavior.
Yep. I have several family members who went to the Barn. Sure, I love them, but they’re weird…

Yeah I have two kids that are Barn grads and are married to Barn grads. Three of them are “rational” most of the time (notice I said “most”). My son in law delusional in terms of his fandom.

From my perspective every school in major college football and/or basketball, has their "cultic" fans. Even UA if you look hard enough (blasphemy!) Some schools have more than their fair share -- UTennessee, AU, UGA, MSU (cowbells), and UF. Traditions are one thing...ritual/cultic behavior quite another. Most of those who are "cultic" get their primary sense of identity from the cult. This explains how otherwise rational people can act irrational in given situations.
