  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Wowowow! Great but a little confusing news. Are we still going after that 6’6 pg? Either way feeling A LOT better about this team now. I wonder if the new coach’s track record with point guards played a role or if we just gave him a mill n change

We got pretty competitive now. If we guy can develop into a go to player this could be a great team. Unfortunately this team is very dependent on potential instead of proven.

WOW! This is awesome! With Sears gone, he can be the standout on this team and possibly be the lottery pick anticipated next year. Great for him and the team.
I really think in the long run Philon won't regret playing another year.

He's got some obvious strengths that the league loves, but he's got some weaknesses that another year of SEC level play will help hone.

I think the two biggest areas of improvement will be:

1. Inside-out passing, which a CNO PG is required to do. Sears was the best I've ever seen with what seemed like eyes in the back of his head at times. That's one area!

2. Most obviuosly is Philon improving his 3 point percentages. It got better as the season went on, but he struggled early last year. If he accomplishes becoming a legitimate threat (say 35% or better), that'll make his dribble/drive game to the rim even better!

I think the USC guy is still in play.
If we can get him, I'd take him in a heartbeat. With this size he could play the #2 when needed.
But I figure he'll want a spot where he's the guaranteed #1 PG. But if CNO can work it, I'd love to see him in Crimson!
Hope we can pull him too… but think it’s tougher now that there’s seemingly more teams involved. ...

John Mitchell at BamaHammer.com seems to think we've called off the dogs ...

After last season, I wish he would take that last scholly and find some kid that can give you 5-8 minutes at PG in an emergency who can play defense and dribble like a maniac. Just in case you need him.
Hard to disagree with this take. I’d go a step further and say a backup PG so Holloway could concentrate fully on SG.
