I didn’t realize he was in the portal. I assuming we simply got outbid? I never saw anything about him being unhappy at bama. He’s a fan favorite for sure.
IIRC, it was announced shortly after Bowen's "commitment"/transfer that Mo was entering the portal.

I don't know if his decision had anything to do with the addition of Bowen, but Bowen is the type of player that might keep Mo off the court more at Bama.

In addition, I had heard Mo was asking for more money too, which could have been the tipping point for us to say, "No, not any more."

MoDee getting away turns my stomach. He became my favorite as the season progressed. Such is the landscape. Getting tougher to stay engaged anymore.
I really liked him too, but he was not the kind of player who could give you 30-32 minutes a game like a starter should. I loved his motor and at times he could really have a great offensive game, but that was the exception not the rule.

So, if I'm guessing (strictly on his playing ability), the staff thought we needed someone who could give us more offense and stay on the court more than Mo.

The writing was on the wall when after the Duke game, he said he deserved more minutes and all the guys on the team knew it. Plus, he was probably asking for more money and I don't think he would ever be a starter at Bama. Someone referred to it but I think he frustrated Oats with his lack of game plan awareness and execution; he's also pretty much a walking turnover. His aggressiveness and toughness were good but his tweener size puts him at a disadvantage at times. But that aggressiveness would turn to recklessness in a hurry.

If it's true Kentucky paid him $1MM for this next year as some are saying, I am really glad we bowed out. He's definitely not worth that.

Tyon Grant Foster from Grand Canyon has entered the portal. When we played them last year he was very impressive scoring 28 with 8 rebounds. He is very athletic wing type player. He would be another huge pick up and sure Nate got a good view of him during that game.

Does anyone else just feel the irony or disgust every time a transfer posts a picture with “COMMITED” in large letters? There’s no commitment anymore. They should just be honest and put “HIGHEST BIDDER”,” “BOUGHT,” or “RENTED.” Sadly 3-4 schools in 3-4 years is just a reflection of our throw away/microwave society.
Agree! It should say "Bought"...🙄

Was hoping he would go out of conference. Good for Mo. Getting paid at KY.
I'm wondering where KY sees him fitting into their system. They want to play like CNO, but if they are thinking he can be an impact starter, I'm not sure he fits that.

He's a great role player, but I think his offensive abilities limit him. If he can get 1 million for being a role player at KY, good for him!

For you guys being hard on Mo, keep in mind CNO probably suggested he move on or at least didn’t offer much money. He is very complementary of Mo but did have some issues i.e game prep issues as well as not a full scheme fit. He was one of my fav but has to do what’s best for him/what coaches want him to do.
