Coffee beans from Brazil are getting hit with a huge tariff.

People are still going to drink coffee. It will be more expensive. How is this great for Americans?

Outside of a few farms in California and Hawaii, we dont' even have much domestic coffee production in this country. And will we ever?
No, we won't. And if there's ever any benefit from his tariff policy, enough to outweigh the probable detriments of taxing the poor and causing an economic slowdown, if not recession, they will occur far, far in the future...

Wonder if Trump and his sterling staff considered the fact that 9 or 10 drugs we take are manufactured in India before slapping on the punitive tariffs? I thought he was going to decrease the price of drugs. You can't decrease the price of anything by 1500%, but you sure can increase it by that...

Now, I understand the reasoning behind the coffee tarrifs on Brazil.

Apparently, Trump believes Bolsinaro was robbed in the past Brazilian presidential election. His human rights were "violated".

Tell me again when the circus leaves town.

I fully expect Trump to demand payment from Disney (again) and the NFL, or he'll threaten to stop their deal from being approved. He's been demanding that the Commanders change back to the Redskins, so I will not be surprised if he uses this sale to "put the squeeze" on these organizations to appease his ego.

Federal appeals court halts criminal contempt proceedings against Trump officials in immigration case

A divided federal appeals court ruled on Friday that US District Court Judge James Boasberg cannot move ahead with criminal contempt proceedings against Trump administration officials involved in a high-stakes immigration case.

The 2-1 ruling from the US DC Circuit Court of Appeals wipes away a ruling from Boasberg, an appointee of former President Barack Obama issued in April that said “probable cause exists” to hold administration officials in criminal contempt for violating his orders in mid-March halting the use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport alleged Venezuelan gang members.

The appeals court had temporarily put Boasberg’s plans on ice while it weighed the government’s appeal of the ruling, and Friday’s ruling represents a significant setback for the judge, who had vowed to hold officials involved in the matter accountable.

See my post above... Multiple levels of stupid here. Too stupid to recognize when you are showing your stupidity.
He wouldn't know anything about income levels. He grew up with a limo service calling every morning to take him to school. That is, until he got too much to handle and they shipped him off to military school...

Trump went to military school? Wow, I didn't know that and never would have guessed that in a million years.

Trump went to military school? Wow, I didn't know that and never would have guessed that in a million years.
NY Military Academy, at age 13. Later, after he got political ambitions and was criticized for being a draft dodger, he replied that military school certainly felt like the army to him. Armchair analysts have blamed his peculiar personality on that background plus his father's Weltanschauung of dividing the world into "winners" and "losers." Trump's older brother was a "loser" to the father, and to Trump, because he wanted to be left alone to be an airline pilot. Alcoholism can't be blamed on one factor, but it was probably one factor in the brother's drinking himself to death...

I think it will be only in the far future that we repair the damage done across the board.

Our scientific research establishments that were the best in the world at the NIH will take years to recover from the damage already done, and we have years of devastation left.

Most scientific research is done by symbiotic teams. Disband them and you just can't create the same animal overnight...

If all these drugs are being made in India and China then why does the US pay a higher price then everyone else in the world for those same drugs? That's what I would be the maddest about.
