How about this one,
@selmaborntidefan?
When will the political parties learn that pulling the gun out in the argument will get YOU shot?
Now granted, this is one of the few issues on which TRUMP has been more consistent than the Democrats have. Hell, if I was Thune and I had the votes in my back pocket, I'd put this up for a vote and literally dare every Democrat who voted for abolishing it get on the record with their hypocrisy. Of course, my party leadership would unfortunately be subject to the PMS of Donald Trump so it wouldn't work.
But this is the Enola Gay, folks. The whole point of a filibuster in the first place is to prevent 51% from smashing through everything they want on the 49%. If this happened, every trifecta in DC would (likely) turn us into a country no better than third world dictatorships, where every time a government fell and was replaced by a new one, their agenda would be force fed onto the "just less than a majority" that opposed it.
Trump wants it to seal his dictatorship.
And I know Harry Reid used the hackneyed justification that "I have to do this because the Republicans are going to do it anyway," but all he really did was make it easy for McConnell - who I'll remind everyone WARNED HIM what was going to happen - to say, "Look, I'm just taking what he did one more step. He started it." And he did.
If you're not FOR abolishing the filibuster NOW, you have no business being for it simply because it helps "your side." And that's for everybody. But the results would be a monumental disaster.
If the GOP is this dumb just wait until they abolish all the stuff they claim to hate and suddenly face a 60-seat blue Senate.
