Trump Orders Navy to Restore Older Tech on Aircraft Carriers, Costing Billions

The Navy spent years fighting the president’s push to go back to steam catapults

His obsession with spending billions on the Trump class Battleships is another crazed idea...

He's a demented orange puppet that is told what to do by others and will support anything that allows his family to grift money.

I mean... I grew up in a conservative family and understand the thought process there... But I don't see how anyone with a lick of sense can look at the current situation and not understand it is a disaster through and through. The US will pay for this for a generation to come if we ever recover.

I mentioned the other day about a focus group, interviewed on NPR. The group consisted of people who voted for Trump in 2016, voted for Biden in 2020, but chose to vote again for Trump in 2024.

I shake my head at anyone who thought bringing this guy back was a good idea. Double crazy that you found a way to remove him from office, yet you brought his bat-guano crazy back again???

Where does he get these crazy ideas?

Hey Donnie, South Korea hasn’t done this-

The liquid-fuel ballistic missile program that Iran uses today is almost completely North Korean. The Qiam short-range missile that has hit U.S. facilities and Gulf targets is an upgraded Scud-C. North Korea shipped about 200 Scud-Cs starting in 1986 and built the factory that produces them. Iranian crews still rely on North Korean engineers and components to keep the line running.

While Iranian missiles, and their proxies, continue to attack U.S. troops and partners in the Arabian Gulf, one fact has disappeared from the coverage: North Korea supplies the weapons. The rockets that Hamas fired on October 7, 2023, the ballistic missiles Tehran launches at American positions today, and the tunnel networks that still threaten Israeli forces all trace back to Pyongyang.

Well Donnie, Your buddy KJU provided Russia with 50k troops to fight in Ukraine against the $billions in US aid, and provided intelligence and assistance to the very Country you wanted South Korea to help you fight and against American soldiers. . . Soo…
This administration wakes up in a new world every day. North Korea sending ballistic missiles and troops to Russia against Ukraine! Vance calling Zelenskyy to ask him to not hit the pipeline at
Sevastopol because US oil companies are a part of the pipeline consortium there. A ship of fools as must be seen by the rest of the world!

Trump: We will pass the great healthcare plan to stop all payments to big insurance companies and give the money directly to the people—you buy your own health insurance, and you have money left over. You end up with better health insurance.
So, the federal government is going to stop subsidizing the cost of the ACA marketplace, and this is supposed to make it cheaper for Americans? This is just more of the right's pathetic lie that we have heard since Reagan: let these companies do what they want, and they will do what is best for everyone nonsense.

Currently, the feds negotiate a better price and pay the bulk of the cost. Trump wants you to have to do it on your own. What incentive does BCBS have in negotiating with an individual vs the feds negotiating on behalf of millions? Prices will skyrocket.

MAGA will believe anything.

North Korea is not an ally. I just hope whatever damage Trump does to this country, we can recover, but we'll be recovering for years to come. In all of my years of living, I never really had hatred for any sitting President of the United States until now. I cannot stand JD vance either. When I see a political candidate campaign as being "Trump Endorsed", they've automatically lost my respect.

Poor JD. He is just the most unlikeable guy... I listened to part of his interview with Joe Rogan and he just tries so hard to fall flat. He's mainly the product of Peter Thiel, who is just plain weird and very unlikeable, so it fits.

This is where understanding (as Ed Rollins put it regarding Ross Perot) "one person CANNOT run the White House" is imperative to a successful Presidency...along with HIRING good and capable people.

This guy can't do it.

And he makes it worse because even in the rare cases where he might hire a qualified person (Rex Tillerson, James Mattis), even they can't prevent him from spontaneous decisions pulled immediately out of his rectum, decisions that often contradict what he said mere minutes ago.

A couple of years ago on a now defunct Christian-owned message board, I had the misfortune of dealing with a few of his brainwashed evangelical followers, the ones who could spout the talking points like a member of Jim Jones's People Temple. I finally unloaded on one when he made a comment and told him that the funny thing was that my viewpoint on this particular issue was set but his would change within eight hours when King Saul changed his mind about his core conviction.

Guess what happened that same day?
Exactly what I'd said.

Oblivious to reality, the same folks who were defending one viewpoint previously switched sides in seconds and then wondered why some of us called them programmed robots.

Oh, I loathed First Draft Dodger Bill Clinton, but I'd take him in a heartbeat. (And even I have to admit that from around mid-1995 until the end of 1997, he was a pretty decent President).

My hatred of him was always - and it's funny how people refuse to get this - his constant lying about things he didn't even need to lie about. That "dog ate my homework" look he had when concocting a childish excuse. The constant defense of him was, "All politicians lie." Yes, they do - but most don't lie about trivial and stupid things once they get into office, either. If you'll recall, his ratings cratered in the first six months for that very reason. Indeed, IN A LOT OF WAYS (but certainly not with the recklessness exhibited by Agent Orange himself), Clinton was Trump-like but with a much more endearing personality in his first six months.

I'll give him credit in that he got better at it, right up until the scandal broke.

But the CURRENT guy?

There is nothing redeeming about him at all. He's the worst child with oppositional defiant disorder whose parents apparently gave him whatever he wanted every time he cried. He is now enabled by a bunch of supposed "tough love" conservatives, who have placed their testicles in a blind trust.

Look at Bill Cassidy. He put RFK2 in the Cabinet, got buried by Trump, and now he's out there again telling the truth about the vaccine schedule. Hey, Bill, YOU HELPED CAUSE IT!!! Don't go pretending otherwise, buddy.
