I'm as big a Hurts fan as anyone, but I really, really hope that Tua is 100% and is able to start the first game.

Wouldn't shock me in the least to see Jalen start & Tua come in a few series later. Pretty much the same scenario of Barnett & Jalen 2 seasons ago except Tua won't be a frosh.
You mean like two years ago, the "starter" gets a couple series at the start of the opening game, then not get another meaningful snap the rest of the season - and at some point transfer? Yea, I suppose that's one possibility. And yes, I have my asbestos suit on! LOL!!!! :wink:
FWIW, back in the 1990's I had a wonderful dentist who lost his career and his practice due to arthritis in his hands. They guy had to retire on disability, and was probably no more than 45-50 years old. So yea, it's a "thing".
You could be right....but I don't think that situation applies at all. Barnett and Hurts neither had any experience so to some extent it was a crap shoot as to who might handle it better.
Hurts and Tua...not even the same.
And the problem is, if CNS and the coaching staff think Tua is really the long term solution, what do you do it you start Jalen against the Cards and he's supposed to get the first two series and Tua the next two and Jalen leads us on two scoring drives and Tua doesn't.
That scenario probably doesn't prove who is better to lead us in the long run but it'll creat all kinds of unnecassary drama.
Wasn't implying the result. Only the scenario. I certainly hope Jalen DOESN'T transfer because he is much more talented and versatile than Barnett. But yes it could happen.
A friend of mine had both thumbs seriously damaged in an IED blast in Iraq. He eventually had them amputated due to pain. He said you never realize just how much your thumbs mean until you can’t use them.

Well, one of the very few things that separates humans from the great apes is that we have opposable thumbs,
Looking at him yesterday, his thumb and fingers seemed fine - weren't splinted in any way. The black-covered cast he seemed to have on early looked like it was on his wrist. Late in the game, it seemed to be gone and replaced with a white bandage, again on the back of his hand and his wrist. I was a little surprised he dressed out...
I noticed that too. The cast/splint almost looked like the one I have for tendonitis.
The AJC was making a big deal out of it................saying it is far worse than anyone is admitting............because he was sitting in some type of chair with wheels
Small blurb.............goes something like this: "Tua dealing with a hand injury all spring, but it appears issue is worse than originally thought. He was seen last week with his hand was in a cast, making it appear he had undergone a procedure.............if you look closely, it appears he is sitting in some sort of wheelchair.......which would be a standard procedure for any patient after surgery".............
Its the AJC...........they like drama. If I can find the exact quote I will post it............

That's not at all where the wrappings were. His fingers were free...read somewhere (beat writer I think) the broken bone was the second metacarpal (left hand)
so not the thumb but below the big knuckle of the index finger
