Who started this trend? I heard Herbstreit mention on the UA/UL game broadcast it came from Miami in '17, but I remember us having a turnover belt in '16. I doubt we were the first to do something like this but does anyone know which team started it?

We were before Miami’s chain. Not sure we were first but most have come on the heels of us doing this.

Bama started it 2-3 years ago. We had it 2 full seasons at least before schools started copying us.

We started it....Since then, everybody else has copied us in one form or another. From LSU's chain to Tennessee's ridiculous garbage can. I believe it started around 2015 when Deionte Wilder visited the Tide. I believe as a gift he gave the team a copy of his WBC belt, and the the team decided to make their own belt, and whoever got a turnover in the game or played the best, won the belt for however long until the next turnover or great play, with Reggie Ragland being the first recipient of it. If I've missed anything or am incorrect, someone please correct me. But, I believe this is how it started.:wink:

Same here. Not sure why it bothered me like it did. Probably due to the media's overall infatuation with the turnover chain.
