What scares me is when other teams figure out just how simple CNS makes it they will copy it.
It won't happen on a significant scale. It never does in any industry. The discipline that leads to success is almost always dismissed by "it can't be that simple" logic, mainly because (1) folks really can't believe it is that simple; and (2) leaders' egos won't let them believe it because then all their grand strategies would be devalued. For examples, look no further than Urban Meyers' "infallible" (his description, not mine) spread option offense circa September 30, 2005, or the numerous airline attempts pre-2008 to beat Southwest Airlines with gimmick "airlines within airlines."

Success in any business requires, among other things, a keen understanding of what you can do exceedingly well, coupled with the discipline to execute it again and again. Few leaders can do this consistently over time. College football coaches are no exception. Alabama's 1970s success was not so much because of the wishbone, but because of the disciplined focus of the program on what it could do well, of which the wishbone was the incarnation. Alabama today is successful, not so much because it has AJs, CJs, TJs, etc., but because it is the kind of program that attracts and/or develops such players. The discipline comes first, then the incarnation. People usually want to reverse it (because its easier and more fun - see Mark Richt, amongst others), but it never works for long.

If I were changing Oregon, I'd recruit a big strong line, and run the ball till someone stopped me,
then I'd pass.
It takes a tougher team to do it this way, but you wouldn't be pushed around by Stanford...
Build a tough Defense... It's simple, if they don't score on you, your likely to win.
BTW: My advice would be to stick with the 'Standard' Green Uniforms.
It's football not the GAP... (Forget being a 'Fashionista')
;)
The football stuff I generally agree with - I like old man football.

But for Oregon, 'electric eclectic' is the standard. For the ducks to settle on one uni would be tantamount to Bama changing theirs. I say let 'em get a new one every week, it's Oregon. JMHO. :)
