The Rams kind of messed it up for the jets and cards. Now they will be taking a lesser QB earlier than they should. Carson Beck now might get drafted early 2nd round

Will be an interesting turn of events when he earns a starting spot for the Rams with Milroe riding the pine or on the practice squad with the Seahawks. Seeing each other 2x per year

I was just looking at previous Contracts for the 13th pick and projections and it looks like Ty will get about a $22-23 Million contract with an additional $12-13 Million signing bonus.

Big chunk of change for sure plus not having to be thrown to the wolves right away either and can learn from Stafford.

Is that better than 6.5 mil at Miami?

So proud for Ty!!! Just the place he needed to land to be able to learn without the weight of expecations to become a new starter like Tua, Mack and Bryce had on them!

And I loved CNS's reaction about Ty specifically and then his reaction about Downs, Proctor and Simpson going back to back to back! He was like a proud dad!

I have seen anything like that at all. He has just said Stafford is the starter which there is no reason he should not be. He said Ty will compete with Stetson for the backup role. Again which is what should happen. He said he wished Jimmy G would have not retired, but now they don't need him. What are you reading?

Did you watch the video of the press conference? He just did not seem particularly thrilled. Could be reading it wrong but it definitely seemed very muted for him and his personality. Also, I think I saw Ty had never talked to McVay before allegedly.

Granted, I could be dead wrong, but Sean McVay and the Rams upper brass have never appeared like their relationship was one in which management would take a player (especially in the first round) that McVay didn't sign off on. But, again, I could be dead wrong.

So proud of Simpson. Man, what a story. Remained true to Alabama from the moment he walked on campus, refused NIL cash from the wannabees and landed in a perfect NFL situation in the first round. Just really happy for the kid and will be pulling for him wherever his life takes him.

Agreed completely! That's why this stood out in his presser. Apparently McVay often doesn't meet players so that part is nothing. But I do think the presser just seemed odd.

Either way, assuming McVay is there for a while its really an ideal sport for Ty. McVay + Puka is a pretty amazing situation for a first round QB

Interesting to see Tyler booker at Ty’s contingent at the draft. On tv They said he’s Ty’s best friend. ! I thought there were rumors booker was part of the LANK contingent backing Milroe? Anyway,,,,surprised he went so high and couldn’t be happier to be wrong. And perfect team…chance to learn from Stafford and great coach in mcvay.

I posted this on another thread. It was Ty Simpson's dream to be quarterback at Alabama. He achienmved that, and it was enough to get him drafted #13 in the NFL draft. I'm extremely happy for Ty. And I don't give a hoot what the naysayers say. I believe Ty will prove them wrong, and surprise folks with his success in the NFL.

Yeah, I don't think support for LANK in any way interfered with friendships. Even if Booker supported Jalen, I don't think it bothered Ty. He knew he'd get his shot soon enough.
