Zags have the better starting lineup but Baylor has depth on the bench. Zags will need to stay out of foul trouble and they need Kispert to play better then he has in tourney and hit the three ball. His shot has been off the last couple games even though he is getting decent amount of points. 3-10 vs USC and 2-8 tonight. He is 47% from three for year.

Baylor is very long and athletic, but i still think Gonzaga wins they have to run offense through Timme, i believe they don't even go to ot if touches ball last few times they had it

I take back any bad thing I have said about UCLA.

They weren't lucky.... They were the Real Deal.

Just a really gutsy group who never seemed to get rattled and made tough shots continuously.

Johnny Juzang is a dang ASSASSIN with the Ball.....

His Tournament line was:

23 vs. Michigan State
27 vs. BYU
17 vs. Abilene Christian
13 vs. Alabama
28 vs. Michigan
29 vs. Gonzaga

22.83 PPG against a 6 Seed, 2 Seed, and (2) 1 Seeds

That has to be one of the Greatest games in the history of the NCAA Tourney and the Final Shot was absolutely bonkers insane.

Gonzaga vs Baylor is going to be a WAR.

We held Juzang to his lowest point total of the tournament and fouled him out before OT - man, if only we had hit some free throws.

That said, I'm not sure we would have matched up better against Gonzaga, given our lack of size down low. Would've been cool to see if a good shooting night and our depth could have worn them down.

I still think we coulda and shoulda beat them though. I'm not hating on them just calling it as it is. If Bama had the type of offense that night we know they were capable of, we win by double digits. But UCLA did everything the needed to win that game. The same with Michigan game and the same thing tonight. At least the shot by Reese wasnt a heave. This shot tonight was a heck of a way to lose a game unfortunate

I'd like to know how UCLA lost 9 games prior to the tournament, and 4 in a row at the end.
I was going over their season earlier and they had a few tough close losses and 2 were right at the end or everyone would have had a way more favorable impression of them.

Three of the losses were in OT and Three of the losses were by 1 point.

L to tOSU by 7 in OT on 12/19/20
L to Stanford by 1 in OT on 1/23/21
L to USC by 1 on 3/6/21
L by Ore St by 1 in OT on 3/11/21 (Pac-12 Tour)

They were 17-9 after the Pac-12 Tourney but could have easily been 21-6 or better with a few breaks.

Their four losses in a row were also to 4 other Pac-12 teams who were all varying levels of hot themselves going into the tournament.

Colorado (Round of 32)
Oregon (Sweet Sixteen)
USC (Elite 8)
Oregon St (Elite 8) (Pac-12 Tour Champs)

UCLA was obviously severely under seeded not only as an 11-Seed but a play in 11-Seed.

They were probably a 3-Seed in reality based on how they have played the last few weeks.

A 3-Seed is supposed to make the Sweet 16 and then finds itself in a coin flip 2 vs 3 matchup there against a 2-seed (ALA).

They won that to basically create a 1 vs 3 Elite 8 matchup with Michigan, and then another 1 vs 3 matchup in the Final 4 vs Gonzaga.

I have no idea what the AP and Coaches Poll will do with them but if they aren't ranked at least 10th to 12th in the final polls after this NCAA Tournament run then the voters need their eyes checked and their heads examined.

I just knew that shot didn't count, that was a crazy end to UCLA's season. I'm still stuck on the shoulda woulda coulda for our boys though
‘76 and IU all over again—but back to the present. Did Timme ever take an official visit when Avery was recruiting him out of Dallas AAU ball and ‘Bama made his short(ish) list?

Alabama also played a whole lot of close games, you just won most of yours where UCLA lost theirs.

Both Alabama and UCLA were made of some tough stuff. But the best 2 teams are in the Finals, and that's the way it is supposed to be.

I think it's going to be tough for the Zags to control tempo as Baylor's trio of guards are the better front line. I don't care who wins, just hoping it's a really competitive/close game.

Well, after watching that, we got beat by a UCLA team that is dad-gum good! I'm very impressed how they played the Zags.

I can't wait for the final! Ought to be a GREAT game!
UCLA is a good and they deserve to win that game but make no mistake that win against Bama was a product of Bama shooting itself in the foot by missing those free throws.

But I am glad to see UCLA out though.

Baylor/Gonzaga will be fun.

UCLA this tournament was the prime example of a good team getting really hot at the right time. That makes for a tough dangerous team to beat when that happens. Hats off to them they had a great run.
