UMass Student's Comments about Tillman

or he could go down the other road and become a coke snorting moronic conserv ....

Party affiliation has nothing to do with this, this kid is an idiot who needs to grow some balls and realize what luxury he has.

"I have neither the time nor the inclination, to explain myself to someone who uses my freedom, and then questions the manner, in which i provide it"...

something like that from a "few Good Men"... this butthole doesn't realize that guys like Tillman give him the option of writing crap like this, but he should learn some tact..

hope he prints a retraction soon and i hop the editor who let that crap be printed is fired.

I am afraid you are SO right. If we brought in Bill Walsh to coach the Offense we would still have JC at QB. You can't polish a turd.

As much as I hate the vile words that this idiot upchucked, we have to remember that it's his right as an American to do so. I just wish he would say the exact same words to his Widow and his Family's face, but I'm sure he doesn't have the balls. Pat Tillman is a hero and what is so Ironic is that he gave his life so the A-hole could ridicule him in a public forum...Shame on that kid, he needs a dose of reality in the worst way.

I've got no use for people like that. This guy is completely clueless. Pat Tillman gave his life for this country, and this Rene Gonzalez just doesn't get it. But what worries me is that there is a growing voice of young people in this country that take our freedom in this country for granted. Many people have fought and died for the freedom we so enjoy, and it is important that we don't forget how important our soldiers are to us.

What's really disturbing is that he's far from alone. It seems that with each new generation, there are more and more mindless twits like him who don't realize that our rights and way of life was paid for in the blood of better men than this idiot will ever be.

Pat Tillman left a professional football career and a comfortable living because of personal conviction that he needed to make a difference. He died for that conviction, giving the ultimate sacrifice to his country. I doubt the young man who wrote the article would have the intestinal fortitude to put his life on the line for something he believed in. I certainly don't agree with the way this war on terrorism is being waged. Military might will always eventually lose to guerilla warfare waged by religous zealots. The home field advantage is paramount in this scenario.

Thats how this war on terror is going to be fought though! It IS unconventional and we will be at a disadvantage at times. But we have the resolve and current leadership to get the job done!

I don't know what surprises me more. This guy writing what he did or why everyone gets so riled up over what one insignificant boob writes in his school newspaper. In my opinion, he is WAY off base, but I'm not going to get all hot and bothered over one person's opinion in a school newspaper. I'm surprised ESPN ran the story to begin with. Don't give him attention he doesn't deserve.

This guy may not call himself a part of any party buy if he votes it will be for people that think like him or at least the most like him. TM makes the point in that there are more and more mindless idiots like that, they get older, they vote IMHO that makes them dangerous. Therefore this disgraceful article is not only worth discussing but worth pointing out that people like this one student are bad for America. He can say and write what he wants. Anyone else can call it the trash he and the article are.

Football anyone?

First of all this is still America and the guy has a right to say anything he wants. Yes, he is a freaking idiot, but as of today there is NO LAW against idiocy! There should be...but there isn't as of today!

Like we always say in the South,"Delta flies whereever you want to go daily".I would ship his little narrow a** back to Puerto Rico or Bagdad and then ask him who is the big man.
He has the right to say what he did because people like Tillman died for it. Ask him if he know Japanese or German and then tell him to thank a veteran for it.

I guess this may be construed, as Edmond Ruffin once said, as "an example of a favor bestowed upon us by our northern brethren." Most "yankees" are as fired up over this as we are. Maybe it is another "favor bestowed" by our mainstream media. Thursday must have been a hard day to find someone to say things were better under Saddam. Pat Tillman was someone who understood that Freedom is not free. Every American generation reaps the benefits of the blood and sacrifice of preceeding generations. Pat made the commitment to risk his life for the security of our society-and the right of morons to denigrate that society and trivialize commitment such as his, and that of our military. I will always honor Pat's memory and those who struggle daily for a better quality of life for future generations. RTR

You know what ticks me off BamaBake? People on here constantly taking shots at peoples party lines everytime someone say something that they don't agree with. I like Squall am of the opinion that this post and this thread have nothing to do with being liberal or conservative, but some people try to make it that way. However you have the right to voice your thoughts just like this kid did, even if your wrong and their wrong, its still your right as an American.
