I'm really, really, really hating Comcast right now. I just switched from DirecTV to Comcast because I moved to another loft and can't get DirecTV in this building. My DirecTV dvr was about 3 years old, and is at least 5 times better than the "brand new" dvr Comcast just gave me. It holds about 20% of what my old dvr did (both HD DVRs), has a horrible interface, and very annoying lack of features and extra features (read bugs). For one, I have a few shows set to record on one channel, new episodes only. I watched these two shows and deleted them. The next day, I noticed that they were recorded again. In the past week, I have deleted those same two episodes three times, as the dvr thinks they're new the first time they run and every time that episode runs until the next one.
The technology (chipset, tuner, and hard drive) in this piece of crap dvr is over 5 years old. Seriously.
At least I am able to watch the UNA game now. Of course, the guide on the TV and the web site are wrong. However, I called Comcast about 15 minutes before kickoff to find out why a hockey game was on channel 36. The lady spent 5+ minutes checking, and told me that the game WAS going to be shown on channel 36, and they would be switching over at or after 7:00. I called a second time about 10 minutes after, and was told that it was a Fox Sports problem, that they were broadcasting the wrong thing to Comcast, and that they had reported the problem to Fox Sports and it should be resolved shortly.
I swear, if I could get DirecTV in this building I would drop Comcast TV like a hundred pound rock. I'd keep the phone and internet, since AT&T can't touch it, but their TV service is absolutely pathetic.
