Urban ducked the real competition when he saw the writing on the wall. So I guess he wants to be a big fish in a small pond. I guess his health/family problems magically cleared up in a year. Right. I hope he loses plenty. I didn't feel too much one way or another until he jumped ship. Now I dislike him. And I dislike the fact he's compared with Saban. Here's to Saban adding a few more titles to fully end that argument. Go Blue.
Good post...

However, my dislike for Michigan runs a lot deeper than my dislike for Urban Meyer, so I'd quite enjoy his boys slappin' both Bielema and Michigan around.

Of course, our boys can soften Michigan up for him this September... :)

Urban Meyer has won two titles and is probably the 2nd best overall coach in the college football. If he had stayed at UF, he would have won the SEC East every year.

I believe that he has almost the same drive and work ethic that Saban does, but is unable to deal with the stress longterm. Reminds me Dick Vermill - remember he had a breakdown that took him 15 years to recover from.

He also ran a trick play/reverse halfback pass type of thing against Indiana this year with a big lead...was probably trying to pad Wilson's stats for the Heisman, but it was unnecessary.
Indiana's coach is the douche of the highest order. If I were a HC and I had a team capable of running up the score on someone, they would definitely be a candidate. Unfair to the players, yes, but if it makes that butthole lose his job that much quicker, all the better.

Could you expand on that? I looked it up and I've never heard of him.

The reality is Meyer is paid to win games; paid to elevate the Ohio State program beyond the point where Jim Tressel got it with the help of a back judge.
Oh snap.

Gentlemens' agreements went the way of leather helmets. Bret had better understand this or he'll be standing on the unemployment line with his fellow 'gentlemen'. Put your big boy pants on and dig in because Urban ain't gonna slack off.

The radio hosts were pretty bad too, but the coach came off horribly. CNS can be peevish, but I couldn't imagine him being so rude, he will just make a reporter feel small.
That was........interesting. When you coach at a crappy football program at a basketball school, you don't have a lot of room to talk smack. But, as you said, the hosts were jerks as well. But the best way to shut up idiots talking about you is to win, so nobody criticizes Saban like that.

Hey Bielema, suck it pal. Welcome to a Man's World of SEC recruiting. It's tough down here, and will soon be up there. Watch out for Meyer, he's a sneaky SOB, but one hell of a recruiter.

The Biggies are in for a rough row. Their best finish was 6th well behind Georgia, Florida, and Alabama with special rules allowing two staffs lead by a man beaten so badly in the SEC he had a breakdown and quit rather than run the risk of being beaten again.

He'll OWN the whole bunch within the year.

UM came to the SEC at the right time in a great situation and he's found another plum ripe for picking.

Honestly, I'm sort of pulling for Meyer after all this. I'd love to see him expose these snobbish tools for what they are.
The only problem with pulling for Urban Meyer, is after they trounce the rest of the guys up there... The other teams in their league will want a SEC caliber coach...
