Listening to the talk shows and I am a little surprised at the passion to fire urban and some (minority) who want to keep him. People are all worked up. All worked up and do not know the facts either way. Since I am not the accused or the accuser this is kinda fun to watch and listen to.

So, basically, Urban Meyer is suspended because he reported what he knew to the AD but not to the compliance office. AD Smith is suspended for not reporting it to the compliance office.

What's most interesting, to me, is that - breaking it down into its simplest terms - Meyer is being punished for not ensuring that his boss did his job.

One takeaway from this, for me, is that it seems the committee must have found something giving them a reason to believe that Meyer, at the very least, may have had a reason to believe that he was not, in fact, abusing his wife. Otherwise, he would most likely be gone.

Also, and this is nothing more than my opinion, I believe that Meyer wouldn't have been suspended at all had OSU not been already mired in other scandals.

Meyer is ....ed at this outcome, and it was clear in his body language when he was reading that he didn't agree with a word that he was saying. Drake threw him under the bus and pandered to the mob, even though the facts presented later did not support anything that Drake said. He and Meyer are not going to be able to coexist for long.

As for the suspension, I think it should have been longer, but not for the reasons presented by Drake. He failed to protect the school from this mess.

Now, on to football.

Go Bucks!

Meh......like getting suspended from school, (which I never could see why that was considered punishment).....except the paychecks keep rolling in, and he can spend time with his family to help his SEC heart condition mend a little more........ He basically got a vacation after his vacation and a mulligan if the team drops an easy one while he’s gone......right, wrong, or indifferent, he came out smelling like a rose amongst all this....

I guess I just don’t understand this. He either reported it or he didn’t. He’s either guilty or he isn’t. He should either be reinstated immediately or fired. Suspending him for 3 games without pay is their way of saying “Ok, we get it, domestic violence is a big issue. But we have conference championships to win...”

It's more like "we've had a lot of bad publicity lately. While we should just reinstate him immediately, we'll get roasted in the court of public opinion if we do, so we'll have to suspend him as an offering to the social justice warriors."

Just like I said, anything short of him getting fired was not going to make the mob happy.

Facebook is about 90% “He should have been fired” or “OSU is condoning a cover up of DV” and 10% “He did nothing wrong”.

I’ve also seen a lot of “This a joke” posts, from both sides...
