Where do you all think he will end up?

If UT loses to A&M, I have to think Mack Brown is on the hot seat. The Florida job is vacant as we all know...of course there are the annual rumblings about Saban leaving for...the Dolphins? Well, this year anyway.

Will Meyer stay a Ute or will he don another name?

I'd imagine that Utah is a pretty nice place to live, especially if you don't mind the cold and he's a Mid-West guy, so it's probably not that big a deal. However, sooner or later, the Benjamins are definitely going to enter into the equation and life doesn't exactly suck in Gainsville or Austin.

I caught...

his denial after their BYU game. Not a bit of fRan-fudge in it. I think he stays - for now. He reportedly has a ND and Mich escape clause in his contract and he's named after a pope...

Got to disagree with you Tommymac

Living in Gainesville does suck! Second highest property taxes in the state and very few BAMA fans!! But if you are thinking about relocating then here is a link for a job application. All you need is a BS degree, a working knowledge of NCAA rules, and three letters of reference!

I don't know where Meyer will end up but I do know his offensive coordinator Mike Sanford is interviewing for the UNLV job.

Mike Sanford interviewed for the vacant UNLV head coaching job

Utah offensive coordinator Mike Sanford interviewed for the vacant UNLV head coaching job on Nov. 22 in Salt Lake City. Sanford calls the plays for a Ute offense that is averaging 46.3 points and 502.7 yards per game, something that would appear to be very attractive to long-suffering Rebel fans who grew tired of John Robinson's run-oriented attack in recent years.

Didn't realize property taxes were that high in Gainsville, but I doubt that they'd really be much of a consideration for Urban or any other prospective HC. Besides, they'd p[robably be more than offset by the lack of a state income tax.

I believe Florida could be in for a tailspin for the next few years. I think they fired Zook prematurely, and they were counting on getting either Spurrier, Stoops, or Meyer...and none of them are going to come.

I believe if Foley continues to mess this up, he'll put the Gators behind for at least five years. This hire will be critical.

Here's an interesting scenario about Saban...

Everyone mentions him for the Miami job, but a job closer to home will probably be opening up soon, the New Orleans Saints. Does anyone hear think Saban would consider that job considering New Orleans has decent offensive talent, and it would be in the state of Louisiana, where people will still hold him in high regard. I might be shooting at the wind here, but it would make sense. Besides, if I'm a coach looking at the NFL, I'm not about to touch the Miami job until they clean up the front office.

First of all an escape clause for specific schools is meaningless! If you

choose to go to another school there is simply a buyout clause and my guess is that a buyout clause at Utah is in the $300K to $500K range...nothing for a school like Florida to deal with should they want him. Also, his denial was honest because according to UF and other schools they are not going to talk to any prospective coach until after that coaches season is completely over....UNLIKE TAMU! Anyway, I personally believe that Urban will end up at Florida if Lloyd Carr doesn't retire...which is news to me.

It's hard to say but if Texas starts offering obscene aounts of money

, all bets are off. Let's face it, if someone offered you 7-8 times your current salary, there are a lot of places you'd consider living. Heck, if someone offered me 8 times my current salary, I'd seriously consider living in New Jersey, the armpit of the Universe.

I'm guessing that he's going to stay. I think in a year or two, he'll take a job at a bigger program. Taking the Notre Dame job would be a mistake. That place is rapidly turning into the graveyard of coaching careers and I don't think anyone could consistently win there due to the extremely high academic standards. Until ND agrees to loosen up at least a little bit on their academic standards for football, they'll never win big again, no matter who the HC is.

I seriously doubt Saban would take the New Orleans job (and it is almost certainly to be open). The Saints franchise is a pitiful excuse for an NFL program. The front office has no clue what it takes to win, they're in a relatively small market and their draft decisions have blown chunks the last few years. Saban's agent is Jimmy Sexton. That man is much, much too good to his clients to allow Saban to go into such a lousy environment.

Saban has spoken openly to a Miami reporter, going so far as to lay out the kind of things he'd want in place. One of those would be the same level of control over player personnel that Wannstedt had before this year. He may be interested in the job, but his conditions may be too much for Miami.

Personally, I think he stays at LSU another year or two. He's recruited extremely well down there and his team will likely be favored to win the West next year. If he gets another SEC Title under his belt, his marketability will go sky high and then I think he splits.

As for Meyer, I really don't see him coming south. He has absolutely no ties to this area, other than having been hired by Machen when he was at Utah. I think he's likely to hold out for one of his 'buyout exemption' schools, and I think either Petrino or Butch Davis ends up at Florida.

I am going to go way out on a coaching limb here. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Urban Meyer to UF
Urban's OC to HC
Dan Hawkins to Illinois
Nick Saban to the Cleveland Browns
Butch Davis to the Miami Dolpins
Bobby Petrino to LSU
Jimbo Fisher to Louisville.

How's that for a merry go round?
