Lincoln Riley, the guy who ran from the SEC as fast as his widdle wegs would take him, is now pretending to be tough guy.
Except he's the one who pulled the nonsense here.
He's focusing on "anytime, anywhere," but USC demanded a Week 0 game overseas they knew had ZERO chance at getting approved.
He's gone full Boise State with the taunting.
I loathe Notre Dame, but USC is using this to get out of that game in hopes of increasing their chances of making the playoff. And that's not just my hunch, either.
USC coach Lincoln Riley said Notre Dame failed to follow through on its pledge to play the Trojans "anytime, anywhere."

In a letter to the USC community last month, Cohen wrote that USC is the only Big Ten school to play a nonleague opponent after Week 4 in the past two seasons, and that the school must schedule primarily with the College Football Playoff in mind. USC has never made the CFP.
"Intentionally making our road to the CFP significantly more difficult than our Big Ten peers does not align with our goal to win championships," Cohen said at the time.
That underlined point is the key: they didn't want to keep up the "South Bend in October, LA in November" schedule because it would hurt USC if they lost. So they made a proposal THEY KNEW that Notre Dame would never BE ABLE to agree to (there are separate rules for Week 0 games - they must either be Hawaii, international, or require a waiver).
Lincoln Riley already ran away once.
He's doing it again.
I'm sorry, but this is entirely on USC and done intentionally and after doing it, they're blaming Notre Dame. And for the "oh they scheduled BYU so fast," well, you have a pretty good idea when negotiations that began MONTHS ago come down to the end that you might need a backup.
