Probably not big news east of the MS River but out here they had high hopes he would return for 2025 and lead them to a Big12 championship.

dude is 25 but set to become OC at his HS which looks like it is a QB factory.

Literal glass cannon. My boss is a Utes fan and he was so frustrated. IDK he made some good NIL money, but at some point if your body says no you got to listen. He will probably not regret this later in life when and still can be active.

Didn't he basically do this the last few seasons?
I think he has been injured several times and kept thinking he could get back to form. There may also be some CYA going on that allowed Willingham to keep his job this year. He has overhauled his staff but they've had some significant injuries in key positions. BYU has the backing now from several UT billionaires who are all in on making the Cougars' programs elite now that they can direct funding for NIL. Utah may be scrambling after this. Their QB going forward is most likely Zach Wilson's brother, Isaac, who was not great in 2024 down the back stretch of the season.
